In the hopeful theory that it's finally near completion, XL probably wants it out Q4 if they could so that they don't once again have to submit to their investors that won't have an Adele album this year (I can see them starting to get really pissy at this point...) and both labels would surely also want to cash in on the potentially huge Christmas market. At the same time, the Q4 single Q1 album schedule has worked for her well in the past, and means less promo needs to be done around the holidays.
I feel like we've determined this three times now, though...
Anyway, welcome DevonRoars. You'll never find a more Sisyphean fanbase around

You make a good point. I forgot about that. Yeah, if XL is not starting to get irritated, I find it amazing that they've actually stayed this cool about it. I'd be beyond impatient if I were Richard Russell. Then again, anyone who can sell 40+ million albums under an indie record label is not someone they should piss off; if she ever left them, they'd be f**ked. But anyways, yeah, at this point, it's hard to say. Adele is so unpredictable that it's really hard to say. I do have faith that we'll get something this year, though; i'm more confident in that than I have been in the past, but that could be because I've been let down in the past so many times that I feel like there's no way I can get disappointed again this year. I don't even care how the album sells or does commercially. I just want Adele to come back. I miss her too much.

I worded it kinda poorly, I meant the investors are likely getting irritated. But yeah, I can't imagine XL's loving this wait for their biggest artist's return either haha.
We shall see...

Then we'll do just like we did at the end of last year and say how if there isn't anything out by January then we will leave and only come back when she has new stuff.
But I'm sure that won't happen again this year...right...

Imagine if Adele's next era goes as well as Rihanna's R8 era has so done far...

Oh, it's all good! Yeah, I'm sure. I think everyone's getting a little irritated at this point. I'm glad that XL has been supportive of the wait as opposed to forcing her to rush to finish the album so it's not as good as it could be, though. I like that they know with Adele, it's all about quality rather than quantity.

Doesn't R8 not even exist anymore, though?

Adele would go through with a release unlike Rihanna has. She wouldn't release something and then cancel it. Even if the single flopped she'd still go through with it.
I do think a VMA's comeback is possible, which is only a couple months away. Album could come in September to make the Grammys deadline, but it would likely come in October.
At the latest Sept/Oct. single and a November album. Her old release schedule worked because she was still unknown. They didn't want her to compete with bigger artists at this time. This time around, it would be different.
God, I was saying this same **** last year.

Yeah, Adele and Rihanna are two completely different artists. Adele will be fine. I think her lead single will do fine. The rest of the singles, it's debatable, but we're talking about the first thing she's released since the 21 era, excluding "Skyfall." People are going to eat it up, regardless of whether or not it's good (and we all know it will be good).

There is no way to Adele 25 to perform like R8.

Adele's label has hinted that we may have a new Adele album by September:
Quote:
The three-month Apple Music trial period that Apple Inc. hopes will attract consumers to its $9.99 monthly streaming service is getting slack from a label representing a group of well-known artists, including Adele.
Beggars Group, an independent record label that also counts popular artists Alabama Shakes, Queens of the Stone Age, Radiohead, The Strokes, Vampire Weekend and The White Stripes among its clients, said Apple AAPL, +0.06% has so far refused to agree to pay royalties to artists during the trial. The group said small labels can’t afford to agree to such terms when a number of artists are set to release new albums during the first three months of the launch, slated for June 30.

It's possible that Adele is one of the artists they're referring to!
