They're hypocrites because they're sanctimonious preachers who attack other people who are completely harmless and pose no danger to anyone in general, while their son was dangerous to other people and they barely slapped him in the wrist (including a "stern talk" with a former family friend cop who didn't report the crime and is now in jail for child ****ography).

His parents did not cover it up. They initially chose to handle the situation in-house, eventually removed him from the home and sent him to be mentored when that didn't work, and when he returned and the behavior ceased, they took him to the authorities. Maybe the situation wasn't handled perfectly, but if you were a parent, think about how hard it would be to be in that situation where your children were victims, but another one of your children did it. You can't stop loving your child.
Also, when they took him to the authorities to talk about what he did, they did not know that officer would be the one questioning him, nor did they know about the CP thing.
They are not hypocrites because they have never claimed to live perfect lives and they don't attack people, they attack actions that they personally disagree with. There's a difference. It's just as much their right to say they disagree with gay marriage or abortion as it is your right to criticize them for holding such views. What this is is the liberal media purposely trying to tear down a nice, successful, wholesome Christian family who is not perfect, just like no family is perfect.

Taking him to a family cop friend after it all happened and who let him go after a "stern talking to" sounds like a cover up to me. If they have nothing to hide, why were the records destroyed in the wake of their lawfully-obtained publishing? Loving my child doesn't mean not doing the right thing, the girls were the victims, not Josh.
They have a right to opinions, I never said they didn't, but it's still wrong to spread misinformation, myths and fear about people they don't know. That is an unwarranted attack. How dare that woman claim transgender women are a danger in bathrooms when there has never been a record of transgender women doing such a thing, but there is a record of her son doing it in her house? That is hypocrisy. What actions? Being LGBT is not an action, they're humans and they have the right to leave peacefully without a person who knows nothing about them demonizing them.
The media is just reporting as the story develops, it's not the media's problem conservatives don't like that a Christian family is being put on blast for this horrible thing.
Want to hear it pretty? Josh Duggar molested little girls and his parents didn't act properly about the situation.

Yeah, 12 years ago. 12 YEARS AGO. This wouldn't be news if it were anyone other than a Christian family that liberals are desperate to tear down.

Just because it happened 12 years ago doesn't make it ok or make it any less disturbing. Sure go ahead and blame the liberals trying to tear them down, but if this case were reversed and they were a liberal family I can assure you that conservatives would be tearing them up instead of defending them.

So because he did it years ago, it doesn't really matter? Geez. I guess that's what his parents thought, because they waited four years to report it.
Liberal media? Is that all you care about? C'mon, there are actual problems here (how families deal with molestation in their homes), but all you're freaked out about is that now everyone knows about it and who is reporting it.
The controversy has more to do with their status on TV than with their religion.

Go, Eric!
By the way the records were never sealed:
Quote:
Perel quickly dispatched two reporters to Springdale and hired a local law firm to advise the magazine about Arkansas' open-records law, which enables residents to obtain public documents. The law firm filed the records request — and was rewarded with a copy of the original police report several days later. "We got it fast," Perel said.

Have you heard her robocall? Have you read their constant comparisons to pedophilia and the like? If gay marriage was their only issue they would be like many politicians, but it WASN'T their only issue and like Eric said they spread myths about LGBT.

No one's asking for a parent to stop loving a child, but they should take their children to PROFESSIONALS in situations like this. They took the first step, okay, but once that flopped they should've tried again with someone who is an actual professional on these issues.

Yeah you can't blame the liberal media for this. This isn't a left vs right thing. Look at the crucifixion Honey Boo's family went through in a similar situation. They tore the mother to shreds.
What is causing it to happen to the D family is their Christian lifestyle of preaching and ignorance. Do unto others and all that crap. If you're going to push holy things at least make sure your glass house doesn't look a mess. Because we can all see right on inside.
