Thing is, Janet has never been honored by BET. She has never even won a BET Award. Janet's camp wouldn't throw that in randomly. Stevie Wonder had been speculated to be the honoree this year but nothing was confirmed. The official announcement is expected to happen soon.
The Ceremony will happen on the 28th. Will she perform ha new single?
Management probably bought her this award to help raise her profile for the album launch. This kind of thing happens all the time. She deserves it anyway, so it's only fair!
