"Studies" like these are really rather stupid. A song can be highly meaningful and beautiful without having words with high syllable and character counts and on the flip side, a song can be rather intellectually shallow and have plenty of multi-syllable and high character count words. Even completely disregarding the holes in the study and accepting at face value, they've basically found pretty much ALL popular music is lyrically delivered to be consumed at a reading comprehension level ranging just three elementary school grade levels. Basically all of it it is simple, basic language that can be easily comprehended by children all within the same age range and education levels. Not sure why stans are feeling like having their faves lyrics average a 3rd as opposed to 2nd grade comprehension level is really something to shade or flex over as if they're listening to Joyce or Tolstoy over 808s. It's just so cringe worthy and laughable af.

People stay posting and re-posting dumb **** like this. I'm pretty sure we can expect to see this multiple times over the next week. Sorry thread was closed as I was posting.
