Your songs have perfect meter. That's why I even do these essays in my reviews and that's why I point out annoying stuff like meter. Cause you know that if I didn't point it out to you, you don't have a problem.

Well, it's healthy to struggle with words that sound similar. That can work for you, cause if you're pronouncing them in the same way (even if it's not my way), you'll still be able to rhyme them and stucture them correctly and I'll be able to read them, say them and sing them.
I just realised the tune in my head I've been using for the IBMY chorus is dangerously similar to the Never Let Me Go chorus by Florence + the Machine.
QUESTION: How should the stressing fit? Should it be like ABAB or is it every line?
Basically what I'm asking is - does it follow a formula like rhyming does?

Just make sure the stressing is on the right syllab. Look at the YB example, how the stressing is at the same # syllab in each line. But that will come naturally in a while.

You all can write amazing, meaningful lyrics, but there's a reason why certain songs are on the radio and certain others are not. Every single hit song, even the most lyrically stupid, have perfect, or at least close to perfect meter. That's the only way that lyrics sound good sadly. Technique is boring, but it matters.
Besides, there's no point in critiquing the actual content, that's personal. I've never told anybody "why did you make a sex song and not a song about death?" or "why did you make a fun song instead of Take Me To Church 2.0?" I can't help you choose your topics. So, all that's left to criticize is how you executed the concept you picked. And technique is like 50% of that, the other 50 being vocabulary and general appeal (originality, vibe etc)

Same. I realized recently that the buildup of a song I wrote is basically the same as Let it Go.
