It's not made up nonsense, look it up. The only old legends to score solo Grammy performances since 2010 are AC/DC, Barbra Streisand, Bruce Springsteen and Madonna. Every other performance has been either new current acts or old legend + new current act. The fact that music' biggest night where every performance slot is highly contested would give her a solo slot says something and sends a message to the viewers. As does the fact that she can still get an entire episode to herself of a talk show (Jonathan Ross), and a whole week in another (Ellen).
And Gaga is young but she is old-looking, even more desperate (doing a whole album with that decrepit hack, promising meet and greets with stans for purchase receipts, working with R. Kelly on a rape-themed song/video).
