Throughout the day I'll just have random lines pop into my head, and to make sure I don't forgot them I slap them into the notepad on my phone and when I need to write something, I go through my notes, pick a line or two and write around those. So I might start with a chorus, or a verse, but the song ends up being written around two/three central lines, usually the most descriptive ones
