Bye, the show died during that ferry crash when Meredith died and had to be resuscitated. That's when it became melodramatic af and turned into a soap.
What made season 1 so incredible was how raw and authentic it was. Every scene featured them on the verge of passing out or whinging about how tired they were while a resident (Bailey) verbally berated them for their ****-ups. It was great.
