2005 Pop sucked tbh. It was too Rock oriented, and only like 3 girls were big who happened to be boring aside from the singles (Kelly, Gwen, and I guess Rihanna's 1 hit or something). & like 85% of the big Pop acts in 2005 were 1 era wonders.
Now, the R&B/Hip-Hop scene... Mariah, 50 Cent, Chris Brown, Usher, Kanye West, Mario, Destiny's Child, and Ciara. Poor 2005 Pop.

I'm not even one to say the whole "ugh old music is better!11!" because that just usually comes down to a nostalgia factor, or people who have kept themself away from Mainstream music so long that it's evolved much since, and no longer appeals to them -- but wow, 2005 kicked 2015 in the ass thus far.
Let Me Love You, Hollaback Girl, We Belong Together, Oh!, Since U Been Gone, Candy Shop, and 1,2 Step are better than every song thus far in 2015 and were all released / hits by this period.

^ True but some old songs are more remembered than 2014, 2013 and 2012 songs are in 2015.

You forgot Knuck If You Buck, Stilettos (Pumps), etc. and other classics. 2015 could never.

2015 truly has been 90% tragic for music this year

2015 has been such a slow year. I mean the biggest songs are a few soundtrack songs and a song by some random producer featuring his famous friend

I bought my copy of See You Again earlier.
It's a good song. Glad to see it at number 1.
Also, looking at the iTunes charts I'm surprised that Shut Up and Dance is as high as it is

I agree with you Got Skill. Top 40 needs a lot more Rock music in its rotation, and "Boulevard Of Broken Dreams" was the best song of 2005.
