It's because her voice is truly atrocious. Don't get me wrong, I like her and think she's an incredible songwriter, but her voice is just so grating.

She is definitely someone like Bonnie McKee. They are both incredibly talented songwriters and they can make themselves some bops, but I just don't see either ever breaking out with their own music.

Her voice sounds just fine. It's just not mixed as clean as a big budget Rihanna song. I could definitely hear Rih singing these though. Especially during the bridge of Any Other Way.
