If it wasn't for Kerry, Viola probably wouldn't even get a season 2. Because lets face it, 97% of its viewers are those who tuned in for Scandal primarily. And you can't deny that.
She deserves the Emmy, yes. But Kerry has been robbed that Emmy for Season 2. I blame her role for that though tbh.

It's about the acting, the best reels, etc. Leave that **** for the Golden Globes, which Kerry can't even win. Viola is a more seasoned and capable actress than Kerry. So is Taraji. I've been watching Trai for years and he has only gotten better, but he is not a great actor. I actually find his bipolar portrayal over-the-top and his emotions are always off. He is certainly not the best actor on the show. He's just given something meatier than the others, but he's still an afterthought.

And who cares about Jamal or Hakeem? They're not good either. Taraji carries that show on her back. It's a stereotypical role, but I think that's what it's meant to be. Taraji just came off a successful run as a detective on a crime drama and received a ton of acclaim for her portrayal in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. She is hardly stuck in stereotypical roles.

I never said she deserved it for that lol. And let's not act like the Academy don't nominate black people not just on their performance but if their show is a hit. They ain't white, they need to have something going for them for them to extend the olive branch and get that nomination. Its racist but thats just how the industry and hollywood works. They can't just get nominations off their name alone. But.. back to the point.. I DO want Viola to win. I just would have liked Kerry winning it first.

I don't expect Yazz to be a great actor. Empire is his first role.
