All of the song lyrics seemed like my story, so I sang them to death
Slowly, my tears dried
Slowly, I got over you

Christ this is such a beautiful ballad. I listened to it as part of the January rate and I'm so glad I did, it's phenomenal. Everything about it is gold, from the gorgeous heartbreak lyrics to Ailee's belts. Not to mention the video absolutely destroyed me since I fell in love with Ailee in it and she was treated so unfairly and asfkljasfk. Anyway it's perfect for late night when I everything slows down for me, and I think it'll be my favourite Ailee song for a long time.
I'm fast as I run like a rabbit
I make it explode like a double nosebleed

MTBD (Mental Breakdown) is a song on 2NE1's Crush album and let's just say it's next-level crack. CL's solo song in 2013 was pretty good, but once MTBD dropped with the album everyone threw The Baddest Female out and forgot it ever existed, MTBD is just that good. The song doesn't have a true chorus, but it doesn't have incredible production, nonsensical lyrics and religious appropriation. What more does a song need?

ARIANA GRANDE
Baby I don't care if you got her in your heart
All I really care is you wake up in my arms

This song is pretty intensely feel-y, and it was my favourite the first time I heard Ariana's second album. The production is somewhat simplistic, albeit ambient and kick drum-starring. I love the humble lyrics and it's catchy af, so overall this song is just a really great package. I still love this song as much now as I did back when I was playing it repeatedly for a few days.
The hands that brush by are warm
Is she actually nice once you get to know her?

Basically all of this sans the bisexual comment.
Catallena is a truly outstanding song with an explosion of synths, strings, and sound effects and everything about it I live for. The choreography remains some of my favourite from 2014 and everything about it has me on the floor, especially when combined with the video which is also one of the best of the year. Basically it's a song about being undermined due to other women being the "catallena" and everyone desiring them over you. It's a ridiculously clever song and it reflects in the video so freaking well. Idek man it's just all so good.

GIRLS' GENERATION
You make broken glass from scars turn into stars
The chosen one to make me shine
That's you; mister, mister

Moving on from the teaser absolutely slaughtering me, it only took me a few plays to start to love the final track and get over it not being the grinding synthpop explosion I wanted it to be based on the teaser. Instead the final product ended up being a lowkey retro throwback, with shouts and effects to bring on the nostalgia of a more naïve time. Overall it's catchy, it's fun, and it's just plain good.
Side note, this mostly made it so high due to it being released at the height of my SNSD stanning.
Those adults look depressed
Those people are truly not happy

SM debuting a new group is exciting full stop, and I loved Red Velvet from the start. They're quirky, fun, and Happiness is a damn good song. It's all tropical-sounding while being catchy as **** and having a whole bunch of cute little raps. I had it on replay for what felt like an eternity. Dying for their first mini/album, for sure.
Why do you make my heart ache more and more?
You're hurting me, you've lost the sweetness

It literally felt like I didn't stop playing this song, it goes so ****ing hard that I was absolutely addicted. The EDM synths in the introduction were what caught me when the teaser was released, and I think the fact they only occur twice in the song added to the replay value for me. Either way the chorus absolutely knocks and everything about it is great EDM and just great music.
Even if your love ruins me and hurts me
To me
It's only you

Holy ****, so back when I was still getting into K-pop 2NE1 released a new album and this song became my everything. It destroyed, redeemed me, it was literally all that mattered. All these months later and the initial effect has worn off but I still love this song dearly for the nostalgia, not including the fact that it's electropop heaven with borderline-hip hop synths and some awesome belts.
I'll cut my hair short and forget about the past
I'll be reborn

The 60 play jump from Gotta Be You tho asjflasfka;
Basically I still don't know what the **** happened here. Everything was dandy with AOA not in sight then December began and everything changed. I pretty much listened to them on repeat for a solid month, it was extremely surreal and totally amazing.
Short Hair eventually triumphed over Miniskirt and Like a Cat (ironic considering it was my least favourite at first) - maybe due to Choa's near-belting in the chorus, maybe due to the woah-oh-oh refrain and general catchiness, and most definitely because I was obsessed with the choreography (some of my favourite of the year). Either way AOA was quite literally the definition of snatching my charts, and mega kudos for that.
SHIT. FUCK. WHAT.
Christ where even do I start. f(x) are my favourite Korean act by far, but literally nothing prepared me for what they dropped back in July. Everything about the video blew me away, but I barely had time to take it in honestly. The song started so cool and hip with its alternative-style synths and borderline urban sound, which was funky and I liked it.
THEN THE CHORUS HAPPENED.
I died, basically. Everything dropped and **** went down, and I was literally left breathless. I wasn't prepared for the tempo change and I could never have hoped to be.
I digress, the song is extremely complex and layered, with a thousand things happening at once. I was listening to it on repeat for days, with barely anything else being heard in between and STILL discovering new sound effects and things happening that I hadn't picked up on.
Everything from the build up to the chorus, to the sound effects and shouts, to the layering of chopped verses over the final chorus adds up to make my most played song ever.
It would not be a stretch to say Red Light is my favourite song ever, and given the shear number of times I've played it and continue to not be bored of it, I would also say that was extremely likely.
Ugh so much acclaim with their latest era
No wonder all the nugu stans are fuming so much
f(x) just can't do anything wrong except having a fanbase name, a solo concert and a certain member felling
