MLD's Mid-Decade Moments

I really became someone during this decade, personality wise. I haven't always had good days but I really enjoyed this first half of the decade. These have been my personal favorite moments of my life so far this decade from 2010 to 2014

7. Starting College (August 27, 2012) - Ok, it's just community college, but whatever. I have the freedom to choose the classes I want, at what time of day and what teacher to be with. And when you get closer to knocking out all your Gen-Ed, focusing on your major or classes you want to take BECAUSE you feel like is great too.
6. First Boyfriend (November 3, 2014) - We may have ended on a sour note 2 weeks ago, but he was still my first relationship. It was definitely out of the blue for me, but you know, I took a chance because he was the first guy to ask me out. And I did develop feelings for him along the way and I did feel a connection. But of course, not everything works out. However, I ended his struggle with his sexuality, because I was one of the many people who he had told that he was bi, but after having a deep conversation with me on December 8th, he realized he was actually gay. So regardless of what happened with us after this, that's one good thing that came out of our relationship. And I at least know to set my standards a little higher for my next one.

5. Turning 18 (January 13, 2012) - Celebrating this particular birthday was great. I threw a big 1-8 the week after at my community clubhouse, which I paid for all by myself by working in my Mom's home office a few months before. A lot of my friends showed up and we had a great time. It was also the last big party I could throw successfully, because after High School, it's impossible to get everyone together again.

4. Homecoming Court (October 14, 2011) - Senior Homecoming Court that is. 2011 was pretty much the peak of my social life in High School and the fact that I almost became Homecoming King was evident of that. I walked down the court with my Mom (all Seniors walked down with someone that was part of their life) and when they announced me as I was walking down the field, the student section just cheered LOUD. It was insanely loud. That's something you don't forget. I didn't win though but oh well. That spot is like winning Best new Artist at the grammy awards of American Idol
3. Trip to Seattle (April 2011) - Being able to get out of the city for Spring Break was actually very nice, and especially one without your parents. This was a Choir trip where we got explore the city but also sing at some places. It was a lot of fun and definitely a highlight of this decade.
2. Buster and Bailey (May 11, 2013) - My two chocolate labs without a doubt made me more responsible and changed my life for the better. I've really formed a bond between them, and especially with Buster. To think they went from being little puppies to being these big dogs that are almost 2 is just crazy. They went from being in cages, to sleeping on the floor, to sleeping in my bedroom. I love it. I never feel alone at the house anymore
1. High School Graduation (May 24, 2012) - I remember how scared I was, but it's honestly not been too bad. It was liberating to know that I graduated high school and could move on to start a new chapter of my life with more independence and freedom. I still live at home, but not many college students live by theirselves anyway.
