TTWE was mentioned by 47 publications as one of the best songs of the year. This was definitely not 'given on the basis that they're these timeless amazing popstars that create nothing but iconically iconic classics.' since respected critics NEVER had that type of mentality with Britney. The acclaim was based on the quality of the song, NOT the artist. Especially since every one of these critics were aware of Britney's diminishing role in the Pop world at the time when they praised the song and her lack of creative input.

Sorry that some people get praised for their music because it's GOOD and critics are willing to overlook the rest. A Katy stan wouldn't know.

Lol at that receipt. Sorry, but nothing about an electropop song with looping "ooh- ooh- ooh" is something GOOD.

Most of the acclaim she was given was on the basis that she made timeless music (Case in point: Blackout)

And it's not like Teenage Dream (the song) isn't more acclaimed than anything Britney has done.

Sorry, but when this supposedly timeless music goes down the drain, that's when these "respected" critics' opinions go down the drain.

Thank God unlike in the movie industry, critics have no importance.

TTWE & Femme Fatale as a whole is still amazing. Everything on that album sounds super fresh and has barely aged in 4 years, which is a major props to Dr. Luke & Max Martin.

The only songs I dislike are HIAM & Criminal, which were ironically singles lol. They were such wrong choices from the getgo. TTWE should've been the launch.

HIAM is angelic. It's one of my favourite Britney songs. I don't know how I feel about Femme Fatale as a whole. Either a track on the album is amazing, or really bad.

Gaga already has two enduring 7M selling classics unlike Katy (whose hits are very frontloaded hence the likes of ET, IKAG, CG, Hot N Cold etc stalling at the 4M-5M mark despite selling so much initially)

I don't really like FF that much anymore, but HIAM, TTWE and Scary (should've been a single) are bops

The only ones I dislike are HIAM, Drop Dead Beautiful & Criminal. IWG, HATLM, TFM, TTYH & Gasoline are so-so and I play once in a while.

The rest I still play fairly often, though. SIWAK would've made an amazing single for her but it was overlooked in 2011.

This argument makes no sense since I never once implied Katy has a classic album + Jonas Brothers are not even in the top 5000 of Itunes

+ I'm using current Itunes stats in which Firework destroys competition. It does so in other areas too like youtube.

Whatever, I'm bored of this discussion. I like Britbot a lot but I was just giving my two cents on how worthless the critics their opinions are (Still laughing at superbass being there) so you don't have to get hurt. I still think she made good music.

Poker Face is Gaga's only true classic, but JD is also still remembered. I wouldn't call JD a classic, though. Of course all my generation knows JD, but I don't think it will cross the line to future generations quite like Poker Face is going to.

BR feels unusually forgotten. I think people have grown resentful of her outlandishness that once made her so popular, hence why everything TFM-0nwards seems to have low recurrent sales in the US.

And then it's easy to see that her other hits aren't gonna be classics either.

Katy's most likely classics, at this point, are Firework, Roar and Dark Horse. Her others don't compare with how huge those three have felt, and they've all showed astounding lasting power the rest of her songs have not.
