News: Melbourne airport terminal evacuated due to bomb threat

The airline said a "security alert directed at Tigerair Australia" occurred at around 9pm AEDT on Friday and led to the evacuation of Tigerair's terminal 4.

No other terminals were affected but several flights were cancelled.

Some passengers arriving on incoming flights were transported to the terminal by bus as a precaution, the airline said in a statement.

Victoria Police confirmed officers were carrying out a search of the terminal which was still ongoing at 2am on Saturday.

Police would not confirm the nature of the security threat but some on Twitter claiming to be passengers mentioned a possible bomb threat.

Scott Marquardt, who said he was on board a Tigerair flight from Brisbane that landed around midnight, tweeted saying the crew had announced they would be on the tarmac for at least another hour.

alimonster were actually saying these terrorists are not muslim at all! Anybody killing innocent people doesn't belong to any religion or even humanity. They are just monsters.
