I'm sure she is capable of creating a great pop record, i'd love if she did a dance-pop/electronic/house album... I'm not saying she can't do electronic music, i'm saying that in order to have commercial success you have to dumb down your art and follow certain trends. Beyoncé seems to be over that, judging by self-titled and 4. I'm glad for it because creating top 40 music can't be all that exciting, not in this day and age. Everything sounds so overproduced.
But you have artists like Bruno Mars who give me hope. That new song with Mark Ronson is pretty cool. Bey could do something like that I guess.
