No lies, mainstream artists just released ok albums this year. 1989 isn't as good as ATRL makes it look like, the critics love Taylor and her success is huge that some of them feel forced to like her music and gives out good reviews.

There are literally only 4 songs that stand out:
Blank Space
Out Of The Woods
Style
Wildest Dreams

The rest is forgettable.
