I've been reading, but just a little, about lawsuits for reparation. Going after the businesses that thrived and made billions off of slavery. Going after them would cause damage, no?

Going after banks that discriminated against people of color which helped create the suburbs.

2 Things:

1) if black people were to get reparations for slavery, the world economy would go to ****. No doubt. The majority of the big banks (Meryll Lynch, JPMorganChase, Fannie and Freddie, ) and other large companies like GE,GM and Exxon were either built directly off the backs of black folks or built off slavery. That is way, way, WAY TOO much money to share out, every last one of those companies would go belly up.

I remember reading that the highest welfare rates per capita were in a city that is 99.7% white. That is always left out though. Welfare was not even created to assist black people and they were denied the right to even apply for assistance upon its inception. Now all of a sudden the media gives the perception that most welfare recipients are black drug addicts that don't want to work and are lazy. The real percentage of black welfare recipients have always been small but let conservative republicans tell it, its double the number of white people receiving aid. Now they are depicting Hispanics as the highest average welfare recipients. The irony is that blacks can be such a teeny, tiny percentage of the overall population but they outnumber all other races in terms of crime, welfare, unemployment, and any other negative stigma that the media would like to portray.

Its like when Bill O'Reilly BITCH made ass said that black people should wear shirts that say "don't get pregnant at 14" like "16 and pregnant" was not a show on MTV that broadcasted WHITE teenage mothers. There are more white teenagers having children and using drugs but I BET you they won't list it as an epidemic.

Reparations would actually benefit the economy (the U.S., at least). The money would allow people to go out & buy, which would essentially be stimulus. The real question of feasibility comes when we're dealing with politics.

We already have a semi-reparations program with Affirmative Action and it's one of the most unpopular government programs, like ever lol. And I'm pretty sure within the next few years, it'll be done away with.
