The dating method they use is due to Billboard Magazine predating the internet by about 100 years. Therefore, they date the charts with the Saturday of the week the magazine hits store shelves and in the mail.

the album sales in the OP are wrong tho
1989s at 3.34m albums not 3.36m if she really sold 331k
also frozen was at 3.44-3.45 last week, so its sales are probably wrong also
frozen 3,336,000+65,000+47,000
=3,448,000+74000=3,522,000 as of this week
1989 2,496,000+230,000+278,000
=3,004,000+331,000=3,335,000 as of this week

Frozen reached 3420k last week, with 74k on HDD, it just hit 3494k vs 3335k for 1989, so 159k behind
