With just 3 rounds left until the finale, the competition is getting incredibly tight. By this time next week there will be only five of you. Five out of an original 36! You all have numerous reasons to be proud of yourself for making it this far. Still, I was more disappointed with the entries last week than I've been for a long time, and so for this challenge I wanted to put a few of you out of your comfort zones.
Round 9: Platinum Flop
Now I'm not saying you have to write a terrible song, just a song not made for the charts. That means no clichιs, no generic party lyrics, and no non-descriptive sad songs. This week's it's all about the music, not the bling. So what does that mean? Well, for each of you I've chosen a concept/metaphor that you must follow and a word you must use somewhere in your song. Try to use your concept metaphorically if possible more than literally. You will lose a point for each of these things (not using your concept or not using your word) you don't follow. In addition try to keep your themes and lyrics away from the pop realm. You won't lose points for doing so, but for the sake of your scores I hope you experiment! So let's get ready to write the next indie bops!!
