Depends on how you look at it.
Applause sold more (if I'm not mistaken), but Anaconda had more of an impact with it's video.
Case could be made for both

i feel like applause is ~technically~ more successful with all the typical sales, radio, etc. considered, but i think it is/will be forgotten easily, unlike Anaconda. hmmm
