Someone on my TL tweeted that they heard an AMA commercial on 97.1 AMP Radio saying "featuring Beyoncé, Iggy Azalea, Taylor Swift" and some other names. I listened online for a good 30 minutes and the commercial came up again and it's true. Iggy and Taylor and the others listed are some of the performers so it made me wonder.

Also, 3 days ago I tweeted Ashley's mom and said "I can't wait to see your talented and amazing daughter perform with beyounce at the AMAs" as a ploy to get information and she faved it. Ashley has an off-day that day and Usher's next show is also in CA where the AMAs will happen. idk how Ashley would have gotten time to rehearse tho

Maybe I'm showing my age but I seem to remember at one point people not winning big at the Grammys if they appeared on the AMA's that award season? Justin Timberlake got shut out this year at the Grammys after he did the AMA's. But then didn't Bey win big at the Grammys in 2010 despite appearing at the AMA's.

well apparently back in the days, the amas and grammys were the biggest music award and the dates were very close to each other so there was competition. however, the amas moved their date to nov, which kinda dwindled its importance and competition with grammys. i dont think it matters anymore, but back then, an artist couldnt do both
