Serious question: do Americans even learn about WW2 and Nazi Germany in school? I mean, considering their ****** knowledge of geography and that they don't teach the evolution (stereotypes, lemme know if I'm wrong), it wouldn't surprise me if they erased such a big part of world history and just focused on 9/11 instead.

WWII was the main focus of a lot of history classes, actually. I remember them spending a lot of time on that period of history. I think the reasons why Americans don't care about the Nazi imagery is because the US didn't care about WWII until Pearl Harbor.

Well I'm from the Northeast which is generally more progressive than the rest of the country but we discussed WW2 and Nazi Germany far too much. To the point that other important events were briefly talked about or ignored. People are just a mess.

To be fair, I think it's normal to learn mostly about your own part of the world. In high school I don't remember spending a lot of time learning about slavery, the American civil war, etc. Maybe when it comes to WW2 Americans focus more on Pearl Harbor and Japan.

ironically, sometimes americans are the ones who seem the most sensitive about nazism. Perhaps because they've never really encountered it, or because of the massive power jews have over there. Just think about how many movies where nazis, or someone representing nazis, are the enemy. Star wars for example.

also there's a wave of neo-nazism washing over financially struggling nations in eastern europe these days. In Hungary the neo-nazi party got 20% of the votes in the election. they openly call jews a "national security risk"
