I want to see the whole year market share chart though Will it be perching at the top?

I feel like it's already a safe bet to say 1989 will be nominated for Album of the Year at the 2016 Grammy Awards.

-It's the best selling album of this year, and will probably stay top 3 throughout the eligibility period
-It's already made sales history, despite being a week old
-It's going to produce multiple top 5 hits during the eligibility period
-It signifies a successful rebirth/rebranding that creates an interesting "talking point" around the album
-It (and Taylor) currently represent artists taking a stand against streaming, which many artists probably agree with

It sucks she always misses the Grammy's eligibility period. I feel like when the next Grammys comes around her album will become dated and forgotten. The other nominees will be more fresh on people's minds.

"Style" and "Wildest Dreams" seem to be stabilizing on iTunes. I feel like they're going to sell so much by the time they're actually singles that they'll be doomed from the start.

Her success is working against her.

It didn't hurt Red, so I don't see why it would hurt 1989. Especially considering the era is shaping up to be just as big- if not bigger- than the Red era, despite a dying field of competition.

Unless they go all ~indie rock~ again at the 2016 Grammys, Taylor and Adele (should she release) should be shoo-ins.

Yesterday, she'll probably outsold Katy's total sales to date.

I cannot fathom Her releasing Wildest Dreams as a single from an album with I Know Places, I Wish You Would, Out of the Woods, All You Had To Do Was Stay, Wonderland, and New Romantics on the (DLX) tracklisting.

Well it's performing better than all of those songs that you've mentioned. Not to mention it is also on the second half of the alber. The free promo from Lana stans didn't hurt.

I'm ok with her releasing any song as a single as long as Style is the 3rd single.

Yea, I'm totally on board with a Wildest Dreams release next fall. I think it would be huge.

I have a suspicion that She will be absent from next year's Grammys, unless SIO gets nominated. I am totally fine with that though.She's performed there for 3 consecutive years, I think it is time for a break.

Even though Taylor didn't break the record, 1989 sales are VERY impressive in 2014. It outsold EVERY album released this year.

Wildest Dreams is far from my fave but I have to agree -- WD is a guaranteed smash. It's different yet catchy.
