Either way, the fact that she was a legitimate threat to Britney's record on her 5th album in a terrible sales climate speaks volumes of Taylor's selling power.
can we stop comparing britney and taylor. i prefer britney over taylor but alot of you britney stans are embarrassing yourself.
taylors feat is very impressive because album sales suck nowadays. britney had impressive album sales too but she benifitted from a better sales climate.
Taylor is just a front loaded seller, don't her albums end up selling like 2-3 million? I'm guessing it's because the majority of her fans are like 10, anyway, Taylor can use Max Martin and attempt to recreate the success of Queen Britney Spears but Britney was the original chanteuse and remains as Americas true sweetheart, I don't think it's very likely that she will have long lasting success or an impact matching that of Britney but if it's in your Wildest Dreams it may come true.
Her million first week seller ending up selling 4 million+ in the end. Compare that to other million first week sellers in recent history.

You think you're so clever... It's kinda sad.
And about the 10 year old comment... Taylor is not Katy Perry. Plus her albums all sell at least 4 million in the US alone. I bet Britney wish she could sell that much today... Why can't she, huh?
It was a well fought battle and she lost to the flat-out best pop album there is by one of the greatest artists of all time. Nothing to complain about on either end.
