6 was by FAR the worst of the entire series. I'm in amazement at how they managed to **** up, literally, everything about the film
As for the ones to watch, I liked 5 too. Dumb fun. 3 was bad, but it does at least have a great concept and one of the best characters of the series going for it. 6 was just embarrassing.
2 > all
It's like they couldn't think of any inventive kills that they went with freaking
vagina suffocation. (rip)
Just watched Deliver us from evil and it was really good! Honestly one of my favorite from this year. I don't even care if it has nasty subtitles i'm THIRSY to see Annabelle and its good enough.
Only just watched Jessica Chastains Mama. Had the makings of a classic but gets a bit silly in the final third part. Great shame. Its still highly entertaining though. Jessica and the two girls are amazing.
Y'all, I'm sad that the horror genre is dying out. Most big screen horror films are trash and about the latest trendy horror element (ala demons) and most are being made independently and with very low budgets. Half of those suck.
Horror will never ever die. People always want frights and they dont care if its the same formula over and over. I watched a featurette on the original Evil dead dvd. It was about how the film gained notoriety and got a proper film release(on VHS and cinema simultaneously which was extremely rare...still is)by Palace video UK. The head of Palace was saying that back then(1983) horror was considered a dead genre. But Evil dead breathed new life into it and got all the horror geeks excited again. That was 30 years ago. Always seems to be the low budget horrors that breathe new life into the genre(Texas chainsaw, Evil dead, Blair witch, Paranormal activity).
So i suggest checking out The Town That Dreaded Sundown. I liked that it wasn't just a straight up remake, but like a continuation of the original film. This is also a very bizarre movie at times, the best I can describe it as is a self-contained season of American Horror Story in 90 minutes. It's obvious the director knew it would never be mainstream and just ran with every strange impulse along the way. One of the reviews states: "For much of the movie it feels like what would have happened if Charlie Kaufman had written "Scream." Then it becomes another dumb slasher movie." and this isn't inaccurate. But I still enjoyed it, eccentricities and all.
It's in planning stages I think, Fede is not sure to return as director yet.
I directs it because the first one was good.

I gave up in the Wrong Turn movies after the 2nd one which was good, I saw the opening of the 3rd one and it was terrible. The first one remains the best though.
Not really horror, but just got this neat lil thriller called The Scribbler in the mail today. Has queens Eliza Dushku, Katie Cassidy, Michelle Trachtenberg, and Sasha Grey in it. Can't wait to watch
