Hmm, I don't know. I feel like she wants to have success but on her own terms and on her own level playing field. Sometimes it works and often it doesn't because the music industry is constantly changing. I don't think it has anything to do with her wanting or not wanting to be commercial because at the very grain of her artistry she is a commercial brand/artist. She could venture away from that but her brand would still be commercial. The stuff that she says in interviews are just how she feels about her artistry and honestly I think some of you take them too seriously. I honestly think she sometimes says those things to get the fans hyped and it's truly a mistake. She needs to allow the music to speak for itself.
And Liberdade she's never said she hated making ARTPOP or anything of the sort, actually she still stands by it rather vehemently which I wouldn't have expected her to do. (some would call her stubborn but it is her music so I guess

) She just downplays the authenticity of the genre in which she used for that album which isn't really that she hates it (she's specified this in a recent interview as well).
