Metacritic and Grammys are the closest thing any of us have to "objective" proof that one artists is "better" than the other.

Other than that any argument just comes down to personal taste, and then it just becomes an argument of "my taste is better than yours", an argument that's usually just based in liking **** that's been proven to be good. Oh and usually that proof of quality is based on acclaim, grammys, public opinion, etc.
