What you said has always been something film just can't bring across as well as books can.
But this adaptation does a great job at that thanks to its cast and dialogue. Also, the intro/outro monologues are essentially representing either ones thoughts you're just going to have to read more in between the lines.

I don't think that's quite the best summary.

I didn't find the Lost ending very bewildering, and it was pretty satisfying. But resolution became increasingly unimportant to me as the show progressed.

For the record, I'm expecting some ****** conspiracy ending for Lost like the maze runner (experiments ans what not). I'm still on season 1 though.
