Gosh, for the last 25 hours, Meghan and Taylor have been (rounded) within 1% of each other on iTunes.

Currently Meghan just took back the title, unfortunately, but given how Taylor took 5 days and they're pretty tied in the 6th, it would be absurd for Meghan to be the digital #1 this week.

What makes me sad is that only two songs are selling very well and fighting over HDS.

I pity the pop girls I think they never recovered after the male domination.

Its not like there is any male competitor either tho

Well you understate it a bit; both are more than doubling the #3 song.

"Only 2 songs...fighting over HDS" makes it seem like usually 3+ songs are fighting for the #1 title, and that's super-rare.
The one that comes to mind: 307k Royals, 301k Roar, 301k Wrecking Ball.
