no one gives a ****. none of them lose when they're all capable of making great songs. fergie knows her place and abilities and she sticks to what she's good at.
Radio airplay means nothing in terms of quality, so many God-awful, basic songs get tons of recurrent airplay. As a piece of songwriting it's nowhere near as good as the best of Nelly & Gwen.
Right, but it does determine staying power. "Big Girls Don't Cry" is still one of those go-to sing-a-long songs. Nelly and Gwen don't really have one, at least not from that era. And not "Hollaback Girl" either.
That's stretching the term "girl" beyond the point of elasticity.
That was 9 years ago, pls.
I remember STANNING for Madonna when she was slaying with "Hung Up" and "Sorry", those two tracks were EVERYWHERE. She outsold all the girls during that period too I would play "Sorry" and "Get Together" for my straight friends and we would bop
PCD were mega relevant in 2005-2006 Hard to imagine now, poor Nicole. But yes there were so many pop girls, they just weren't as dance-pop and gay-targeted as they are now.
