I'm not talking about the SONG I'm talking about the BAND. 1D and 5SOS get so much fans here lately even when the song is average.

Every 1D song goes too far in any game it's in. I really don't understand how some of you are in your 20s and listen to basic, boring, half-assed love songs (with some bordering on creepy ala What Makes You Beautiful, She Looks So Perfect) aimed at 5-10 year old little girls.

The concept of "different people, different taste" is really not that hard to understand.

I dont care if it is a 20s-year-old boyband or a 40s-year-old boyband singing, if the songs are catchy, I listen to it, and it will be my jam. I don't rate or hate the song just because a 20-year-old kid singing with basic lame lyric, or discriminate old singers like the radio does with Madonna, Mariah, J Lo, etc.

For me, catchiness is above everything. It's music, gotta enjoy it.
I hate 5sos, and I'm not even big fan of 1D, but gotta defend what is right.

Basically you can call all the listeners, buyers, and chart critics are childish, and little girls when the song What Makes You Beautiful smashed all over the world. The world is not entirely made of 5-10 year old kids....

It's still the intended audience for those songs. I can't stand those songs because I'm not a little girl so the lyrics bother me as do all the constant ripping off of other songs they do. For me catchiness is a huge factor, but if the lyrics either make my brain cells commit suicide because of how stupid they are or are just incredibly basic/childish, the song is trash no matter how catchy it is.

They are other factors, but lyrics play a role, and it doesn't even seem like it'd be that hard to fit within my standards, but that just goes to show how ridiculously lame and stupid a lot of songs are.

for what it's worth One Thing is basic and childish but it literally pushes all of my guilty pleasure buttons so let's not over-generalize here.
