I think this album flopping would have the opposite effect actually
she doesn't want to feel obligated to make country to be popular, which is part of why she left imo
She went pop because she felt restricted doing one genre, while Pop is a bit more diverse. Pop has a whole wide range of different types of sounds/lyrics/etc. while in country she would be told how she's "not country anymore" when she experiments with her sound, which was probably why she decided to label this album pop in the first place.
I think the only time she'll "return" to country is when she wants to, not when she feels forced to
