I mean, I know that as a Christina stan you must know a lot about being eclipsed but in 2011 Katy didn't even perform, she just won like 2 awards and nothing else, Gaga opened the show and then presented the special award for Britney, you can't say she eclipsed her. Same for 2013, Katy only performed at the end, she wasn't even at the audience like, wow, your delusion...

In 2010 and 2011 the ratings were 100% because of Lady Gaga, nobody else. She was the biggest act of 2010 and was always going to win VOTY during a time when she could do no wrong. In 2011 she was the opener and was promoted by MTV nonstop. In 2012 a drop was always gonna happen with a Thursday move but it fell far harder than it should have, almost half 2011's numbers when Gaga didn't attend and there was no buzz.

2013 was definitely more of a mix but Gaga once again was the opener and heavily promoted by MTV as a big performer for the night. She doesn't attend in 2014 and the ratings collapse completely again despite Beyonce, Miley, Katy and Taylor all attending? Gaga might be having a poor commercial era, but ha VMA ratings power is as strong as ever it would seem.

If Gaga was such a viewer/rating magnet, don't you think they would at least norminate her? Don't you think they would do something to include her? After all ratings and viewers are everything to MTV.
