Yeah, that's what RYB and I were thinking would be the reason why that is.
Counterintuitively, the relative ease (in terms of cost for financing/distribution and coordination in man-power) of making good music in a non-English language as compared to doing the same in film is exactly the reason why it's less likely to show up on western best-of lists.
Still, you'd think there would be at least some inter-change, at least to a greater degree than there is.
