Oh and musical structure did not develop on what people found appealing. Equal temperament (the western tuning system since the late 1600s till today) was pretty disliked by people but composers wanted to make it happen and did. If we listened to something in mean tone temperament, the tuning system directly before it, we would call it hideous. And it's funny because that's what people thought was "pleasurable" for a really long time. So yea it's language and familiarity. Comes from a system that your ears know well, whether you like it or not.
