I think this shows that, more than anything, Cheryl isn't just a flash in the pan. She isn't some gimmick whose career is inextricably linked to X Factor. She's not a fad and she's not going anywhere. She can disappear for two years and come back, drop a single, and hit #1 with little to no promo because she has resonated with the public.
