I have a feeling it will sell 1.7 million US copies or even 2millionwith the right mv and release tactice. this will do good.just relax

lmao all you want, nothing I said was false or indicative of me having a meltdown. Actually, a lot of what you said (doesn't need plays before adds date, it's a 5th single, etc.) were things I outlined in my post. But, you can't ignore that radios did support tracks like "Birthday" and "Dark Horse" far before their adds date, whereas even with a lyric video stations are not voluntarily playing it. That shows that they don't care for the song so they don't want to spin it, which is stupid and selfish.
Also, I find it annoying when people say "Katy fans have been spoiled." No we haven't. How does Katy getting airplay spoil us? Literally doesn't make any sense. This is something that happens for Katy and a lot of artists.

Exactly. "Birthday" was a fan fave for a single and, even though it was supposed to be the original third single before "Dark Horse" blew up, Katy released it anyway and it didn't do as well as most fans thought it would, whereas personally it was one of my least favourite upbeat tracks on PRISM from the start (I quite love it now, though).

This exactly. If "Dark Horse" was never released as a promotional single, "Unconditionally" would have easily charted within the Top 10. Probably not #1, but it would have received more sales than if "Dark Horse" had been released and stolen the limelight. Then "Birthday" would probably have been the third single and done better as well, and maybe "Dark Horse" would have been released as the era's "E.T." as a fourth single and still smashed. It really was released TOO early.

Take me down to the river underneath the blood orange snub
Well, we'll see how this does. All the best for Katy, but I don't see this catching on.

NO.
Dark Horse release was perfect, look at it now, Katy's biggest hit ever in the US.
If anything, it should've been the first single. Maybe then, it wouldn't have killed the 3 singles (and basically the whole era) like it did.

I think its funny how only Katy could have a song that was so big it ruined an era Everyone else has flop singles that ruin everything, but, nope, not Katy

I think Dark Horse underperformed.
it should've had 8 weeks at #1
ever since it released as a promo single i was an instant stan. i guess it really did steal thunder but i always wanted her to release dark horse after roar. i never liked unconditionally ever since i heard it on the radio im like WTF WHERE'S DARK HORSE and this was way b4 i knew of atrl

It is NOT okay to go against a single that an artist and their label have selected just because you personally believe that there are better options! At least give the song a ****ing chance. I'm sure the GP will love it, but how can they if they don't ever hear it on the radio? This is a mess and it's not FAIR.
I know it hasn't hit the adds date just yet, but as others have said, there really should be some pre-adds date spins. I don't know whether it's just because it's a fifth single or whatever, but I'm trying to stay calm and think, "It's fine, the adds date isn't here yet, it doesn't need any plays. Any plays would just be extra." But this is getting ridiculous. I think radios are rebelling against her.

fffffffffff The MELTDOWN!
Anyways, I think the video will give it the much needed exposure. This might become a sleeper hit.

You're only saying that because Dark Horse smashed the way it did. Its release was very messy, far from perfect. Roar was the best choice for the lead single. If the GP hadn't heard DH until it was released as the fourth single, it'd still have smashed anyway, and the three singles before it wouldn't have been killed either. It would have been a bigger hit than it was because it wouldn't have the competition from Roar or Unconditionally.

fffffffffffff except there's no meltdown there. Eject yourself from this thread, Gaga stan and pressed Katy hater.
Sleeper hit? Just further showing your stupidity. How can a single become a sleeper hit when it's only just been released? The song hasn't even taken off yet, there is no "much needed" exposure to be had.

No, I don't need to go anywhere. Maybe it;s you who should step out & get a lil fresh air perhaps? Since you are the one attacking others for giving their opinions.
I'm giving my opinions just like everyone else is, so kindly take your inner frustrations out somewhere else & not on me! kthanksbye!

kii I see Katy aiming for those controversy sells / streams with this release! Haters can hate but they're still giving the lyric vid a streaming point when they make a hateful comment!

It's not about TIHWD being a bad song cause' it's not. It's just the fact that she and her rabel chose this over LL and WOA that makes it "bad".

Birthday genuinely could have done a lot better than it did. It just didn't have a good string of promo or a watchable video. TOTGA stalled outside the top 10 too before they gave it a discount which really helped it out. The only thing close to that was having iTunes promo in the hit new songs section which helped it tremendously.
TIHWD was doomed from the very beginning.

I'm just curious if they'll continue after this song flops (if it flops). Will they continue to push out singles in hopes for another hit so the album doesn't end on a sour note or will they just count their losses and move on. Surely they've already lost money on Uncle, Birthday, and then this song if it performs poorly.
