G.R.L. Performances for 7/24/2014; Part 3
Total Television Takeover: Night (4 articles)
G.R.L. on the David Letterman Show
3 paragraphs; 497 words
With the entirety of their "Morning" and "Mid-day" performances finished for their Total Television Takeover, G.R.L. managed to bring in all-time high ratings for the David Letterman Show, the first stop of their "Night" performance schedule, with viewers tuning in to view the girls' performance. Word of the Total Television Takeover continued to spread like wildfire, with several trends beginning to trend on Twitter (Including "#TTT", "#TotalTelevisionTakeover", "#GRLTTT" and "#GRLTakeover"), along with posts on other social media such as Facebook being made. Of the aforementioned Twitter trends, "#TTT" and "#GRLTakeover" were the first and second top trends world wide, respectively. The girls took to their official Twitter account to express excitement for the trends, but obviously could not comment on it during their appearances on TV due to them being pre-recorded.
As done at the previous TV show appearances, the girls mentioned their Total Television Takeover, with Simone Battle taking the lead to explain the whole concept, including the list of shows (Good Morning America, the Today Show, the Talk, Live! with Kelly and Michael, the View, American Idol, the X-Factor, America's Got Talent, the Voice, the Ellen DeGeneres Show, the David Letterman Show, the Jay Leno Show, Late Night with Conan O'Brien and the Late Show with Jimmy Fallon). However, unlike their previous explanations, Battle also explained how they came to form the idea, stating: "We wanted to make a big first appearance for our live performances, and so we were able to contact the producers of the 14 TV shows, thanks to our manager Robin, and we scheduled recording times to appear on each of the shows, alone. They all would show on the same day, which was originally supposed to be Wednesday but ended up being today, not that it matters, but they'd all show on the same day and it would just be a total... Takeover, ha ha. We were really excited to do this, and we think it'll help a lot with the single, even if it's just a hype single..."
The five girls, after being interviewed by David Letterman for a short while, moved over to the set's live performance area, where they proceeded to perform "Free". However, unlike the album version and remix performed earlier in the day, the girls performed a simple acoustic version of the song, featuring Simone playing the piano and Lauren Bennett playing a soft, acoustic guitar. The girls coordinated their voices together similar to how they did in the morning arrangement of the song, showing off their fantastic voices, as Natasha Slayton continued to belt out powerhouse vocals during the final chorus. After they had finished performing (where they were given a large amount of applause by both David & the live studio audience), the girls announced that both alternate versions would be uploaded to their YouTube account shortly after their next appearance, and that both versions would be featured on a remix EP for "Free" due out in the next couple days.
G.R.L. on the Jay Leno Show
3 paragraphs; 525 words
Moving on to their second "Night" performance, and their 12th appearance overall since the start of their Total Television Takeover, the halfway point for the "Night" performance schedule was on the Jay Leno Show, where G.R.L. arrived. The girls appeared in an outfit ensemble chosen by member Emmalyn Estrada with each girl wearing identical (minus the color) circle skirts matched with various other articles of clothing. Estrada wore a pastel pink circle skirt matched with a pastel purple t-shirt and a white loose-knit sweater; Lauren Bennett appeared in a white button-up blouse that was semi translucent in some parts, along with a pastel blue circle skirt, and a thin, pastel blue scarf wrapped around her neck; Simone Battle appeared with a green circle skirt, along with a white crop top with the word "FREE" on it, along with pearls around her neck white Converse sneakers; Natasha Slayton wore a white circle skirt, along with a simple pastel orange tank top and a white bolero jacket over it; Paula van Oppen appeared in a pastel blue circle skirt, a white t-shirt and white leggings under the skirt.
The girls went on to continue their usual schedule of explaining the Total Television Takeover (TTT), explaining they got total support from their manager Robin Antin, who made the proper arrangements necessary for them to make their appearances on the various TV shows (Good Morning America, the Today Show, the Talk, Live! with Kelly and Michael, the View, American Idol, the X-Factor, America's Got Talent, the Voice, the Ellen DeGeneres Show, the David Letterman Show, the Jay Leno Show, Late Night with Conan O'Brien and the Late Show with Jimmy Fallon). Unlike the previous times explaining, where they chose one girl to explain at a time, the girls explained as a whole this time. They also went on to explain how the schedule was divided into three groups, "Morning", which was made up of morning talk shows, "Mid-day" which was made up of contests & reality shows, and finally "Night" the current schedule, made up of late-night talk shows.
Finally, the girls went over to the performance stage of Leno's studio, where they announced that the following version of "Free" would be up on their YouTube accounts just after this performance. They then went on to perform the acoustic version played earlier on the David Letterman Show, with Battle on the piano and Bennett on the guitar. The acoustic elements and passionate vocals brought out more emotion in the song, relating more to its serious origin despite the studio version of the song being an upbeat pop/dance song. Once they finished, Bennett went on to explain that she came up with the idea to do the acoustic version of the song, and that they decided as a whole to do the backing tracks (piano & guitar) themselves with no other producer's help. The girls then thanked Jay Leno for having them, and went on to their next performance, which was confirmed to be on Conan O'Brien's show. Immediately afterwards, the acoustic and alternate versions of "Free" were uploaded to G.R.L.'s official YouTube page.
G.R.L. on Late Night with Conan O'Brien
3 paragraphs, 437 words
Late Night with Conan O'Brien was the next appearance and performance from G.R.L. as a part of today's Total Television Takeover. Conan was the second-to-last performance of the "Night" performance schedule, along with the second-to-last performance overall from the Total Television Takeover. The five girls (Lauren Bennett, Simone Battle, Emmalyn Estrada, Natasha Slayton and Paula Van Oppen) appeared on Conan's show, where they sat down as a group for an interview. There were only three chairs available, which resulted in Emmalyn sitting in Lauren's lap while Natasha sat on the arm of Paula's chair. The girls continued in an interview with Conan, and out of nowhere, Paula said she thought Conan was rather attractive, which resulted in Lauren reaching around Simone to flick Paula in the shoulder. The girls and Conan laughed at this, and later continued with the interview.
Of course, the girls had to mention the Total Television Takeover, stating that it was almost over and they only had one more place to go after this. They then listed the total performances (Good Morning America, the Today Show, the Talk, Live! with Kelly and Michael, the View, American Idol, the X-Factor, America's Got Talent, the Voice, the Ellen DeGeneres Show, the David Letterman Show, the Jay Leno Show, Late Night with Conan O'Brien and the Late Show with Jimmy Fallon), but stated that since they had already performed at Good Morning America, the Today Show, the Talk, Live! with Kelly and Michael, the View, American Idol, the X-Factor, America's Got Talent, the Voice, the Ellen DeGeneres Show, the David Letterman Show and Jay Leno, and were now on Late Night with Conan O'Brien, they only had to go to the Late Show with Jimmy Fallon after this and the Total Television Takeover would be finished.
The girls all went on to perform the acoustic version of "Free" then, maintaining the usual composition it had the previous two times it was played today, earlier on the David Letterman Show and the Jay Leno Show. However, instead of the usual arrangement of vocals, Lauren and Simone took solo moments, with Simone dominating the long note on the middle 8 and Lauren singing an entire chorus by herself over her guitar and Simone's piano. Once the girls had finished, they also revealed that they would announce their official debut single next, on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, though they would only reveal the title and the producer. They also said full information on the song would be released next week, possibly when it releases. They thanked Conan for having them, and then left the show.
G.R.L. on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon
3 paragraphs; 614 words
As the final performance, of both the "Night" performance schedule and the entire schedule of G.R.L.'s Total Television Takeover (which began trending on Twitter as "#TTT" among other trends), G.R.L. appeared on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon tonight to further promote their buzz single, "Free". The girls appeared together, excited for the final performance of the night, and finally explained the process behind writing, recording, producing and editing "Free" in the studio with its producers. Lauren Bennett, who also helped engineer the song alongside Dr. Luke, explained that even though the girls weren't able to write for the song, they didn't think it mattered. "We just like to have fun with our music," Bennett explained. "We're writing more for future music, including our upcoming official single, but 'Free' was written mostly by the producers and a few others. We don't care about that, we just want to enjoy everything we can." Other members, including Simone Battle and Natasha Slayton, also expressed excitement about working with Dr. Luke, along with other producers they were working with for their upcoming material, such as Max Martin and Ryan Tedder. Finally, before going on to explain the whole concept behind the Total Television Takeover for the last time, the girls said they would announce the new single and its producers immediately after their performance.
The girls then explained TTT for the last time, explaining they chose to go on 14 of the most popular TV shows to perform "Free", with the shows including Good Morning America, the Today Show, the Talk, Live! with Kelly and Michael, the View, American Idol, the X-Factor, America's Got Talent, the Voice, the Ellen DeGeneres Show, the David Letterman Show, the Jay Leno Show, Late Night with Conan O'Brien and the Late Show with Jimmy Fallon. Jimmy Fallon's show was the last of them, with them already having performed on Good Morning America, the Today Show, the Talk, Live! with Kelly and Michael, the View, American Idol, the X-Factor, America's Got Talent, the Voice, the Ellen DeGeneres Show, the David Letterman Show, the Jay Leno show and Late Night with Conan O'Brien, and they expressed extreme excitement over it all and were happy to finally debut their TV performances of the song. The girls stated they hoped to do another Total Television Takeover some time in the future, though it wasn't totally likely that it would happen.
Finally, the girls went on to perform "Free", performing the acoustic version that they had performed on the previous three TV shows. The performance was arranged the same way, instrumentally and vocally, as it was the first time they played it earlier on the David Letterman Show. Once the girls finished, they moved on, excitedly, to reveal their official lead single: The song is titled "Afterparty", and is an dance/electro house song produced by Dr. Luke, Cirkut and Kool Kojak, the former two being producers of "Free". The girls said the song was a similar Dr. Luke production, which they loved, but also said it differed from other songs he's produced noting that his signature guitar wouldn't appear on the song until the middle 8, as the rest of the song, including the "banger, singalong chorus" (as stated by Natasha) was mostly produced by synthesizers. The girls said the song was due to be out within the next two weeks, but were busy recording and needed to make official plans for the release date. Excited that the TTT was over, but also sad due to it, the girls said their goodbyes to Jimmy Fallon and left the show, bringing an official end to the massively-viewed Total Television Takeover.

Time to Hop Off Lyric Video

The lyric video for Time to Hop Off was just released earlier today. The hot new hit by Azealia Banks and Rita Ora has been taking over the world and the lyric video has just been released to great reception. With over 9 million views within the hours it has been released, the video has proven to be a great success. The entire lyric video is cute and fun which allows it to be easily digested by the public. With a sales increase of 75% since the release, Time to Hop Off is projected to do well on the upcoming chart for this week.
At the start of the lyric video there is a picture of Rita Ora in what seems to be a fight. As the bass bangs, the picture jumps with the bass. When Rita's part starts the lyrics to Rita's part appear on the screen in an organized fashion. As Rita is singing, pictures of Azealia and Rita are seen throughout the video and moving like a slideshow as the lyrics appear and show up in a cute fashion. With each line, the picture behind the lyrics changes. Most pictures are casual shots but many shots are pictures of Azealia and Rita on the set for the upcoming music video for Time to Hop Off.
When it comes time for Azealia's solo verse, like Rita's part, the video shows a set of pictures of Rita and Azealia on set as the lyrics appear over the screen. As Azealia sing raps, the camera flys over what looks to be a table of pictures of the two girls zooming in on each one looking at the girls together. After Azealia's verse, both Rita and Azealia sing together for the chorus. For the first line it shows the above picture and then after that it shows Rita and Azealia on set for the official music video in video format singing along to the chorus. This portion of the video is in black and white. After the chorus and a few more verses from Rita and Azealia, the video is over and Azealia and Rita are heard telling the camera man to cut and are seen hugging eachother. "7/25/14-Time to Hop Off" then appears over the girls talking to eachother and walking off set.
The video has gotten great reception and trended on twitter as the top trend for over 10 hours. The video so far has a 97-3 like to dislike ratio. The official video for Time to Hop Off has been rumored to be premiered on X Factor UK. However, no one is sure if these rumors are true or not but they've been taking over the internet. With great sales on iTunes, things are looking good for Rita and Azealia.

Zedd: Moment of Serenity World Tour – Night 3 (Six Flags Great America)

Zedd continued his worldwide Moment of Serenity Tour at Six Flags Great America (not to be confused with Six Flags America, which Zedd started the tour) in Gurnee, Illinois (near Chicago), tonight. This concert was held at the Southwest Territory Amphitheater, which is about the size of the last venue. It actually had a much lower capacity at 2,000 people, but has recently been expanded to support up to 4,000 people. As this leg will have varying stage specifications to conform to various venues, there isn’t a specified stage design (it also isn’t completed for the other legs yet). Besides, it probably is best not to have expensive stage equipment sitting outside, exposed to the elements. Anyway, the stage pretty much consists of the stage itself and an HD video screen, as well as the necessary equipment for the concert, such as lighting and speakers.
The concert started at approximately 6 pm local time. The park closed early for this concert. 2,500 fans packed into the bleachers at the venue, while 1,500 more fans packed into the general admission area in front of the stage. At this concert, bleacher tickets were $40, GA tickets were $60, and 10 VIP tickets (GA + meet and greet) were $100. Zedd also chooses a random person from the GA section to join the meet and greet. Despite this concert being much smaller than the one at Six Flags America and slightly smaller than the one at La Ronde, it is sure to bring in a good amount of revenue to the tour. Concertgoers have all declared the concert amazing, despite an official stage design.
The concept of the concert is that Zedd is a DJ working his way up in the world. He starts out with an introduction that explains the backstory of the concert. After the introduction, Zedd finds himself DJing at a house party. He does a couple of tracks for them and then he leaves. There is an interlude of Conduit prior to him arriving at his next gig: a rave. He plays the Gaga-inspired track “Slay,” and then Lady Gaga herself makes a surprise appearance to sing “Temple,” “Stache,” and “Aura.” Zedd then realizes he needs to break free of this monotone life of DJing. He runs off the stage, leaving in the middle of “Shave It Up.” He returns when the song finishes and begins to break free of his monotone life of being a small-time DJ to make his move into what he was longing for, the EDM industry as a whole. Of course, during part of this he plays “Break Free.” He ends up finding success and no longer has a single problem in his life.
During the concert, every song from Serenity was performed. The concert started out with “Beautiful Sky,” which transitioned smoothly into “G.U.Y.” The rest of the concert incorporated all of the songs of Serenity, some of Clarity, and two Zedd songs from ARTPOP. As the concert ended, the audience wanted an encore. He then played “Stay the Night” and “Follow You Down”, and after “Follow You Down” ended, roaring applause came from the audience as people left to buy Serenity and “Temple” at shops and booths nearby the venue.

Night Six
Britney Spears embarks on her “Naughty Girl” stadium tour to promote her new album “American Dream” as the tour is filled with tracks off the album. The tour follows Britney’s life from the “Dreaming Days” before fame to the “Hollywood Babe” of Britney in her prime, to her “Rebellious Heart” and troubles of the past year and to her current “Naughty Girl” style as she embarks on the current era of her career. The tour is filled with incredible visuals and effects, the interludes are beautiful and sexy. Britney stuns in her outfits as her body is on point, the choreography is incredible and the stage features are amazing. Britney uses several flying platforms and additional stage platforms that rise up high in the air so the whole audience can catch a glimpse of her. Several fire/water effects are used as huge light shows create a technically advanced feel for the tour. Britney pushes the limits and even ties her herself up in a glass box of water to open the “Rebellious Heart” set, she bangs against the glass frame as she tries to escape, scaring the life out of fans in the stadium as she purposely panics. The costumes are sexy and scandalous and leave little to the imagination, Britney certainly pulled out all the stops for this tour as it truly is her biggest production yet.

NIGHT 13
Taylor Swift played the fourth night of her Electric Princess Tour, in Rio De Janiero tonight. To a sold out crowd of 80,245 people, Taylor gave a show full of stunning visuals, video montages, and performances of songs of songs in her six album discography. Every song on her 'Coven 13: The EP' was performed, some serving as interludes rather than full performances but every song was included in the set. The tour follows the evolution of a girl who has been dubbed as "insane" or "crazy" and is sent to a mental hospital where she is rather tortured than helped. She begins to reminisce before being sent to the hospital, thinking back to the events that led up to her getting sent to the hospital. More downtempo songs like 'Losing Touch', and the collab 'Gunshots' are performed here, along with a cover of Beyoncé and Jay Z's ' On The Run'. She then comes back to reality, facing the truth of what is wrong in her life with songs like "I Knew You Were Trouble", 'Girl With the Red Lipstick" and a few more. The final act is 'The Electric Princess', which is the last of the act of the show. Taylor instead of getting better hast turned into a egotistical monster aka The Electric Princess. 97.1 AMP RADIO
(Interview & EXCLUSIVE Acoustic Set)
Taylor Swift was live on 97.1 AMP Radio, one of Los Angeles' biggest pop radio stations today where she was their main guest of this month. Being announced to appear on the show earlier in the week, immediate advertisements aired during commercial breaks, hyping up Taylor's appearance that would occur this Thursday. "Make sure to catch Taylor Swift exclusively on 97.1 AMP Radio this Thursday at noon!" the commercials would say along with the radio dis whenever they were on the air. The advertisements ding to an amazing job at building hype as over seventy thousand people tuned in to listen to Taylor on the air. Not only did Taylor give an interview at the radio station but she also gave a very rare intimate acoustic set where she played some songs from her upcoming album, Electric Princess, which has finally gotten a release date that will soon be revealed Taylor said. "Soon" is a word Taylor has said for months so don't get your hopes up guys.
Taylor walked into our studios wearing a pair of Saint Laurent heels that matched perfectly with her dress that was also Saint Laurent. A smile was on Taylor's lips, which were painted a love shade of red, creating the perfect contrast with all the black that Taylor's outfit consisted of. "Everyone please welcome to AMP Radio! Taylor Swift!" the radio DJ laughed as Taylor returned the greeting with words of appreciation. "Thank you all so much for having me." After all the small chat got out of the way, Amp Radio and Taylor got right into it. "So you're album is coming out, well I know but can't say, let's just use your favorite word. "Soon". So it's coming out soon. Tell us how this album is different than your previous records?" The question didn't make Taylor think as she responded almost immediately. "I feel like 'Electric Princess' is a much more confident record than any of my previous. It exudes the power of a female. It addresses double standards. It still has some heartbreak and love based songs but mostly it's just about a girl who's loving the night life. Which you can say is sort what I'm doing right now." The topic of the next single was also addressed. "I think the next single is definitely going to be another uptempo. 'Manhattan Girls' will be it. It's a song that's really about breaking free from someone who's been trying to keep you down." The last topic addressed was Taylor's personal life. "Are you really dating Paige Elliot?" the DJ asked in which Taylor laughed. "It's really hard to explain what's going on between me and her. I don't know. When I know I'll tell you. Promise."
Taylor then would grab her classic 'Taylor' wooden guitar where she would play entirely new songs from her upcoming record. She played three songs off the record. She played a song entitled 'Stand Your Ground', a song that warns Taylor's lover to stand his ground when it comes to battling in the name of love with her. The second and final new song she performed was one entitled 'The One', a knocks produced love song in which Taylor writes and sings of being impatient for her lover to take her away and make love. The final song she performed was of course 'Loverboy', her current single that has taken over the airwaves on radio, including AMP Radio where it is currently the most spun song for the station.
Y100 MIAMI
(Interview & Acoustic Performance)
Y100 is one of Miami's biggest radio stations, always scoring exclusive interviews with the biggest artists in pop music today. On this lovely Wednesday morning, the pop radio station, the biggest in Miami, scored an exclusive interview and acoustic performance with no one other than America's Sweetheart and favorite singer-songwriter, Taylor Swift. The lovely pop songstress walked in to Y100 studios this morning looking absolutely gorgeous, wearing an Alexander T Wang top and bottom that were customary for her. Numerous fashion blogs blogged praise of the outfit, as well as fans who raved about Taylor's latest fashion choices, saying that her fashion has been "on point" this entire era. Taylor headed straight into the studio but not without greeting fans who had been waiting for her arrival. "I love you guys so much. Thank you for hanging out and waiting out here for me. I really appreciate it. Thank you." Taylor took as many photos with fans as she could before her guards forced her inside so she wouldn't be late for interview.
Taylor walked into the studio cheerfully being greeted by all the people who were in the room. "Taylor Swift has officially made it into the studio after being greeted by about one hundred fans who are still waiting outside our building." Taylor expressed her love for them and quickly got straight to business. "The songs from this record are much more developed sonically than the songs I had prior. Giorgio helped me produce almost every single song on the record, minus about three or four. He really gave the record that disco vibe that he himself created back in the 70s and early 80s. You can't really ask for a better disco influenced production for your record than from the man who invented disco himself, you know?" Taylor spoke about the strong disco influence on 'Electric Princess' which is due for release soon. "Also, you obviously have goals set for this record. Tell us some of those." Speaking of her goals, Taylor was slightly a bit greedy but not too greedy. "I would like to get a few top three singles. Maybe four from this record. I kind of at least want to get five singles from it before I have to slow it down and start working on the next record. Get the album certified, and just sort of aim for it matching the success of Coven 13. Which will be hard I'm sure."
The last thing Taylor talked about was some of the favorite music that was out currently. "I really love everything that's out right now. GRL's new single in which one of our main songwriters from Tigerlily Recordings, my label, helped write. I really love Danity Kane, Azealia, and I kind of am really into Mariah. Zedd's nice, he's really cute too. I'm really pumped for Celine though. She's definitely going to deliver some twerque anthems that I can white girl pop too." Taylor then would perform 'Loverboy' acoustically for the radio station, just having a microphone and her old guitar, in fact the first guitar she ever owned. The live acoustic performance was flawless as she soured great. The audio of the performance aired on the radio waves and the idea was uploaded to Y100 Miami's official YouTube and website.
(Album Preview Party + Performances)
With the listening party being made for streaming on YouTube, iHeartRadio itself, and lastly NBC tonight, there was the chance for millions to watch and listen. And millions did. Over 2.2 million tuned in to hear the five songs from the record in which Taylor handpicked to premiere. Falling the premiere Taylor then performed some of the hits in her discography acoustically.
"I want to thank you guys for all coming out to the lovely Stapes Arena for me to listen to a few tracks from the upcoming album. I want to thank iHeartRadio for being so king and generous for letting me do an album listening party in such a big way. This is amazing. Anyway, yeah, how about we get started by premiering the first song?" Taylor laughed as the audience roared. "Alright. This first song is one of my favorites. It's from the deluxe version of the record which I'm now confirming I think. This song is called 'Savior'. I wrote it and actually co-produced it with a talented team of producers called 'The Knocks'. It's one of the first songs I recorded for the album. Back when it originally wasn't heading in a disco direction. It's more R&B than disco but I really love it. It's about really your true feelings towards someone who thinks they know you're going nowhere. That you will never have the strength to leave them. Here it is." The disco-R&B based song caused the audience to vibe out, Taylor's vocals over the R&B beat with claps sending them into a trance. The end came as the next song was soon ready to premiere. "The second one is definitely one of the most uptempo and how should I saw fierce songs on the record. This one was produced by Giorgio and I, and was written by myself. This is In Love For A Night". The disco song hit the bass in the arena hard, starting off with a strong synth that lasted for about ten seconds before the drum hit in, carrying the song into a bunch of synths that was a throwback to the eighties. "
Third one here we go. "This is another Knocks song. This one is called The One. You guys have heard this one acoustic but not the original. Here it is." The song premiered, the one that Taylor Swift had performed at Y100 studios acoustically. "This last song is one of the most ballad based songs on the record. This is 'Heart Worth Saving". Perhaps the slowest song yet, the disco R&B slow beat hit the arena hard, causing some audience members to look with their eyes wide open at the beat which pulsed. Eventually it transitioned into a somber disco beat as Taylor sung beautiful lyrics, some of her best over the beat. The final track was Taylor's 'rumored upcoming single. "This l sat song is my next single. This last song is called 'Manhattan Girls'. The song premiered to a massive reception of positivity. The song garnered the most love from the fans. Though it received the most, all of the songs were well received when the audience filled out an online survey following the event. "Thank you all so much for tuning in wherever you are. The album is out Sunday. Yes it is. I hope you guys all go out and buy it. Until then, I love you and bye!" The event ended with Taylor waving off to 'Manhattan Girls', confetti falling as the album cover appeared on the screens.
Fashion Rocks 2014
('Loverboy' Performance)
Taylor Swift's music has taken over the music world. With numerous number one albums to her name (six to date) and numerous number one singles (also six to date), it seems like the singer-songwriter has pretty much dominated the music world. But it's not the only world she's had major influence. The starlet has recently became one of the biggest names in fashion. Always expected to deliver at red carpets or if she just steps out on the street, Taylor Swift always delivers with some thing cute and chic no matter where she goes. This is why Taylor Swift was chosen to perform at this year's Fashion Rocks event. Along with another performer, Taylor performed her latest single from her upcoming seventh studio album 'Electric Princess', entitled 'Loverboy'. The song has already entered the singles charts at number two, missing out of number one by less than five thousand copies. Taylor's seventh studio album is expected for release next week
Taylor was introduced to the stage about the first fifteen minutes into the special. Introduced by the amazing Ellie Saab himself, a designer in which often designs Taylor's dresses, she hit the stage. The stage lit up bright white as Taylor laid upon a massive statue that was on stage. Roman columns that were decorated with gold patterns at the top and bottoms stood on either side, as the screens behind her displayed an Ancient Rome scenery. Taylor wore a Ellie Saab dress that had long piece of garment that was attached to the back. A harp intro played as Taylor laid in the statue. She hung over a pool that was apart of what seemed to be a huge fountain. The intro continued on the harp as shitless dancers surfaced from the pool entirely shirtless. The stage went dark blue as Taylor did vocalizations. When the lights brightened up, shirtless men dressed in Roman like garments stood on the levels that led up to where Taylor was on the statue. She began singing the first verse, sounding absolutely amazing over the harp. The pre-chorus featured the first synth used in the arrangement as as the dancers began to slowly move.
The chorus was sang in a more belting way than usual as she showed off more skill vocally than performance wise. The second featured the original arrangement of the song as Taylor stood up on the statue, on a platform made for her, where she did a little routine with her dancers, until the bridge hit. She stood atop there for a moment to hit a big note before she jumped off into the pool that rested below. There was an extended part into the intro as the stage lit up in gorgeous colors. The men lined up along the sides of the circular pool as the camera panned above to show Taylor floating on the water in a gorgeous one piece white bathing suit that was designed by Gucci. On the swimsuit were some golden metal pieces that kept it realistic to the entire Roman theme. The dancers then dived in the pool with her where they lifted her. At the end they held her in the water before they all went under and the performance was over. Yay ta da! You can buy 'Loverboy', Taylor Swift's latest single on iTunes now.

Zedd visits Chicago’s 103.5 KISS FM

If you didn’t already know, Zedd had a concert at Six Flags Great America in Gurnee, Illinois, near Chicago, today. The park closed early and the amphitheater the concert was held in was packed; there was barely room to sit, or stand in the general admission area. Zedd, in order to sell the last few of the 4,000 tickets for the show, visited the CHR station 103.5 KISS FM in the late morning and early afternoon on Thursday, July 24. He was interviewed and spun both “Slay” and “Temple” during and after his interview. A transcript of the interview is below.
Nina Chantele: Welcome to KISS FM, Zedd!
Zedd: Glad to be here!
Chantele: So, you just released a new album called Serenity. How would you describe it?
Zedd: I’d say it takes the Clarity album and twists and distorts it. It’s very similar, but also different. It sounds like me, but I definitely incorporated elements of dubstep, trance, classical into it.
Chantele: Interesting! So, there’s currently two singles out for the album, right?
Zedd: Yep! The first one is “Slay.” It was released about three weeks ago and debuted and peaked at number 15 on the Official CAL Singles Chart. I dropped all promotion for it the next week as I wanted to release the next single, which is “Temple.” “Temple” features Lady Gaga. It was originally made for ARTPOP but due to delays and cuts, we decided to just release it on my album. It came out two weeks ago; it debuted and peaked at number 9 and fell to number 11 on the last chart. I was disappointed that this happened, so I’m kicking things into full gear this week.
Chantele: I think it’s time for a song now!
Zedd: Yes, it is. This is my first single and fifth track from my latest album, Serenity. It’s out at Six Flags parks everywhere, as well as retail and digital stores!
[“Slay” plays. After, the interview continues.]
Chantele: So, Zedd, I haven’t heard much about this tour.
Zedd: Haha, yeah. It was announced kinda suddenly. It's called the Moment of Serenity World Tour and it’s doing extremely well. The first two shows were actually overcrowded, but the venues made room. My opening concert at Six Flags America near Washington, D.C. actually had ticket sales of over 20,000 due to the temporary venue and openness. The one at La Ronde in Montreal had almost 5,000 ticket sales, but had to be cut off due to lack of space. Tonight’s show will only be able to hold 4,000 people, so it will be even more intimate.
Chantele: Can you share the concert grosses?
Zedd: The tour currently has a gross of over $800,000. The first concert grossed over $600,000 while the second concert grossed just over $200,000. There were a lot less tickets available for the second concert, though; the average ticket price was higher as well. The average ticket price for tonight’s concert is higher than the second.
Chantele: Nice! So, is this tour just going through Six Flags parks?
Zedd: No. For the first leg of the tour, it’s all Six Flags parks. I will also be touring with Marina and the Diamonds during this time. The second leg will be in Europe, third in Asia, fourth in Africa and Oceania, fifth in South and Central America, and the final sixth leg will be in North America. The last five legs will be in arenas and stadiums.
Chantele: Nice! I hope you come back here!
Zedd: Oh, I definitely will!
Chantele: Oh, look at the time! It’s almost time for us to wrap this interview up! Quick question: third single from Serenity?
Zedd: Not sure yet. Probably “I Found You,” which features Ryan Tedder. Maybe the song I did with Kesha “Not a Single Problem” will be it. Not sure yet.
Chantele: Thanks for your time! Zedd, would you like to play the next song?
Zedd: Yeah! Everyone, this is the second single from Serenity, “Temple” featuring Lady Gaga.
["Temple" plays as the interview ends.]
Zedd's new album Serenity, featuring the singles "Slay" and "Temple" (feat. Lady Gaga) are now available on iTunes, Google Play, Amazon, various retail stores, and all Six Flags parks.

TUMBLR TAKE OVER + OFFICIAL Q&A
Taylor Swift has already taken over the music world in her short almost decade spawning career but now the singer-songwriter and now actress has started to take over social media. Taylor Swift became one of the first music artists to use the blogging website Tumblr as a way to interact with fans and promote her music. Taylor Swift did this this evening in which she hosted the 'Taylor Swift Q&A'. The Q&A session was announced earlier this week in which Taylor tweeted a link to her tumblr blog in which she would answer as many questions about her album and other things as she could. Over 200,000 questions came in for Taylor who answered about one hundred in the live chat. Little advertisements for the question and answer were shown all over the tumblr homepage and on the side where tumblr promotes stuff.
Taylor logged on and began answering questions, posting a video message of her reading them as she typed answers to them as proof. Q: When can we expect another country album from you Taylor? A: I'm not really sure when you guys will have another country album. I love country it's very dear to my heart. I love it and plan on making another country album but it won't be the next album. Sorry to disappoint you. Q: Have you started work on your next album? A: I have actually. It's going really well. So far. That's if I don't change my mind a million times like I did with this record. But yes I have started work on it and I've been getting in the studio and playing with sounds. I have a vision already set in mind for the record too. But I'm definitely going to slow down, take my time with it, and just make sure that everything is right with this record. Q: When did you actually finish Electric Princess? A: I never really truly finished it. What's weird is when I record an album, I never stop truly recording until my label taps me on the back and is like "uh taylor we need that from you". That's what happened with Coven 13 and this album. Q: Why did you name the name album 'electric princess'??? A: In my mind the Electric Princess is the person I was meant to become. A girl who is strong, powerful, and just electric. She can capture a room with her pretense. She's a force to be reckoned with. That's the Electric Princess. Q: How many tracks does the album have?" A: I want to say thirteen or twelve. I want to bet on thirteen though. Q: What's your favorite song from it? A: I really like a song called 'Sex Kitten'. That's a fun one.
Taylor then logged out after awhile of answering questions. but this wasn't before Taylor made another tumblr video for her fans. "I want to thank you all so so sos so much for logging onto tumblr and asking me questions that I loved answering. I got to spend an hour with you guys which is amazing. I'm so sorry I couldn't get ahold to everyone's questions but I love you all so much. That's why I want to play you 'Loverboy' acoustically for you" Taylor Swift said in the tumblr video. She then performed 'Loverboy' acoustically, sounding amazing, her vocals sounding powerful and her tone almost pitch perfect. The tumblr q&a helped boost sales a bit, sending the song straight into the number three spot on iTunes.

Zedd on WGN-TV

WGN-TV is one of the leading local news stations in the Chicago area. Therefore, it’s no surprise that Zedd chose to go on their morning newscast to promote his new album, its singles, and his Moment of Serenity World Tour. He is disappointed at the underperformance of his two singles, and is looking to turn that around as well as make sure it doesn’t happen to his album. The interview was first aired in the 6 am hour portion of the newscast, and was replayed every hour for the remainder of the morning newscast. The interview can be read below.
Jackie Bange: Welcome to WGN News, Zedd!
Zedd: Happy to be here, Jackie.
Bange: So, how are you liking Chicago?
Zedd: It’s nice, what I’ve seen of it. I got here late last night after my show in La Ronde, and it was still too dark when I got to the WGN studios.
Mark Suppelsa: Well, let’s hope you have time to see the city. So, we know you just released an album.
Zedd: Yes, it’s called Serenity. I currently have two singles from it: “Slay” and “Temple.” “Temple” is currently my main focus, but recently I’ve been giving “Slay” a bit of attention as well.
Suppelsa: “Temple” features Lady Gaga, right?
Zedd: Yep. She’s actually a wonderful person. I know people were turned off by her antics from Born This Way through ARTPOP, but she’s changing things up now.
Bange: I’ve seen the music video for “Temple.” It’s pretty good!
Zedd: Thanks! Gaga and I worked hard on it. She came up with the whole concept, though.
Suppelsa: So your tour, what is it called?
Zedd: It’s called the Moment of Serenity World Tour. Currently, I’m only playing concerts at Six Flags parks for the first leg. I’ll go around to the other continents after this leg for the stadium part of the tour, and I’ll return to North America for the final leg.
Bange: Pretty cool stuff. I’ve heard the tour is currently doing exceptionally well given its low capacity.
Zedd: Yeah, demand is high. The first concert near Washington, D.C. had over 20,000 people in attendance. Pretty amazing, to be honest. The next one in Montreal had just under 5,000 people. The one at Six Flags Great America only has 4,000 tickets available. They’re actually nearly sold out, so make sure you grab them if you want to go!
Suppelsa: We’re definitely going to go to the concert!
Zedd: Well, I actually have a couple of tickets for you two! [Zedd hands Bange and Suppelsa press passes.] These will get you in the park after it closes for the concert.
Suppelsa: Thanks so much!
Bange: Yes, thank you!
Zedd: No problem. It’s just what I do best: be nice to others.
Bange: Before you go, is there any news on a third single?
Zedd: It’s either going to be “I Found You” featuring Ryan Tedder or “Not a Single Problem” with Kesha. That’s still a couple weeks away though.
Suppelsa: Well, thank you for your time.
Zedd: No problem! See you at the concert!
Zedd's new album Serenity as well as the singles "Slay" and "Temple" (feat. Lady Gaga) are now available on iTunes, Google Play, Amazon, various retail stores, and all Six Flags parks.

Samsung Galaxy S5 Zeddition commercial airs

As you may know, Samsung and Zedd partnered up to produce a special edition of the Galaxy S5 phone. It is unknown how much the phone sold as it was just released this week, but it is reported that it broke first day sales. The official report will be coming later on. But right now, there is promotion going on for the new phone. The new commercial for Zedd’s special edition of the Samsung Galaxy S5 phone is now in rotation on major TV networks around the world. It should serve as motivation for people to go out and purchase the phone (or order it online). A summary of the commercial is in the following paragraph.
The commercial starts with Zedd at one of his concerts, finishing with "Slay." The concert ends, and he proceeds to walk backstage, while doing things on his Galaxy S5 Zeddition phone. First, he starts playing “Temple” on his phone. He sends a couple emails and downloads the “Temple” remix EP. Then, Zedd makes a music playlist on his phone. He checks his heartbeat, and it appears to be perfectly fine, maybe a little faster than normal due to excitement. Then, he checks the amount of steps he’s taken today with the built-in pedometer. He also writes a reminder to meet Lady Gaga for a nice dinner. Finally, Zedd sends a text, “Be there soon, I have a concert.” He walks out onto another stage and starts performing, with lots of lights flashing everywhere and “Temple” playing. The commercial ends with the “Introducing: Samsung Galaxy S5 Zeddition” card.
The commercial was both praised and criticized by multiple parties. People who loved the commercial praised it for showing how much the phone can do, and how quickly it can do it. They appreciated the setup of going from the first concert to another one, seemingly in the same venue. Detractors of the commercial quickly pointed out that the phone cannot perform that fast. Most people saying this are pressed Apple stans. A few Google Nexus 5 users pointed this out as well, and they did raise an important issue: bloatware. Others pointed out that the commercial enforces unrealistic expectations for aspiring musicians to perform one concert after another. It’s really just a commercial though, isn’t it? Overall, the commercial got mixed reactions. It’s surprising how polarizing a simple phone commercial can be. Oh well, the haters can stay pressed while buying “Temple,” “Slay,” and Serenity and adding money to Zedd’s bank account. This commercial will air at least once every commercial break on ABC, CBS, The CW, FOX, NBC, and numerous cable channels, including Comedy Central and MTV.
Zedd's new album Serenity, featuring the singles "Slay" and "Temple" (feat. Lady Gaga) are now available on iTunes, Google Play, Amazon, various retail stores, and all Six Flags parks.

Zedd gives surprise concert to Chicagoans

Imagine walking around in Chicago’s Millennium Park. You’re enjoying a nice lunchtime walk before you head back to work. Suddenly, you hear familiar music: it sounds like the 2013 hit song “Clarity.” You follow the music, and you end up in the Great Lawn in front of the Jay Pritzker Pavilion. You realize that Zedd is performing! Yes, Zedd! While he was waiting for the venue for his concert at Six Flags Great America to be ready, he put on a show during lunchtime for Chicagoans walking around Millennium Park. He did it to give people a taste of what was to come later that evening at Six Flags Great America.
The concert was performed on a temporary stage, instead of using the Jay Pritzker Pavilion. This was done to make the short concert more accessible to people walking around Millennium Park. The stage was set up around 11 am, while Zedd arrived at noon. He started playing at 12:05 pm. He began with his 2013 hit, “Clarity.” This brought a lot of attention and people to the stage. He then switched gears and played his most recent hit, “Temple.” Cheers from the large audience could have deafened people. He then gradually faded “Temple” out to start playing “Slay.” There was less cheering, but people still stayed to watch. Then, Zedd played the song he produced for Ariana Grande, “Break Free.” The crowd went wild here. Zedd closed the set by playing “Not a Single Problem,” which he collaborated on with popular singer-songwriter Kesha. The crowd quickly dispersed, but not before Zedd could say, “Make sure you get your tickets for my show at Six Flags Great America tonight!”
Reception of the surprise performance was overwhelmingly positive. While this promotion technique has been done numerous times in other cities, especially New York (and even more especially Times Square), it has rarely been done in Chicago’s Millennium Park. Everyone loved this performance, even people who generally hate EDM. “I generally don’t like this ‘EDM’ thing, but Zedd’s performance was just too good to discredit,” said one person interviewed by ABC 7 News. Some people criticized Zedd for disrupting the peace of Millennium Park. Others criticized the criticizers for this, as Millennium Park is in the middle of downtown so there really isn’t peace there, not to mention that there’s already a large concert venue already in the park. Shortly after the performance, “Temple” and Serenity both reached number one on the single and album iTunes charts respectively after hovering in the top 10. “Slay” also reached the top 5, rising from number 20. “Clarity” rose back into the top 50 after falling out of the top 200. And finally, “Not a Single Problem” is now in the top 30. This surprise concert was a wonderful way to promote Zedd’s singles, album, and big concert at the same time. It is rumored that other major stars will use this tactic in Chicago.
Setlist
1. Clarity (feat. Foxes)
2. “Temple” (feat. Lady Gaga)
3. “Slay”
4. “Break Free” (with Ariana Grande)
5. “Not a Single Problem” (with Kesha)
Zedd's new album Serenity, featuring the singles "Slay" and "Temple" (feat. Lady Gaga) are now available on iTunes, Google Play, Amazon, various retail stores, and all Six Flags parks.

Ellie Goulding sings Asleep for children with cancer (500+)
Singer-songwriter Ellie Goulding visited the Chilren's Hospital Of Philadelphia at 10 AM to
sing for the children, entertain them and donate money to the hospital.
At 9:56, the nurses took all the children down to a large hall where over one thousand people
could fit in. There were four hundred and sixty-four children and seventeen nurses there.
The hospital got the call just over an hour before Ellie came and agreed to let her sing for
the children to entertain them and make them happy. Children that were under four were left
upstairs. The ones downstairs were all different ages going from four to eleven. A black
car arrived at the back door and Ellie stepped out of it wearing casual clothes. She was wearing
sunglasses so that people wouldn't recognise her. When she took them off, you could see that
she wasn't wearing much makeup. Ellie entered the large hall and one of the nurses introduced
her to the children. They clapped and Ellie sat down on the floor, facing the children.
Ellie looked a bit nervous at the start but loosened up later on. She told the children what the
lyrics of the chorus are and they repeated it after her. She sang the song by herself and told
the children to join in at the chorus, they did so but some of them got confused so Ellie repeated
the lyrics to them. She sang the second verse and they joined in for the chorus again. The
children sang the final chorus perfectly with Ellie and everyone looked happy in the end.
When that was over, Ellie played a game with the children. They had to run around and when she
called out an animal, they would have to make sounds like that animal. When they were halfway
through the game, a five year old brought her a picture. He said it was her and Ellie almost
cried, they hugged him and thanked him. Towards the end, Ellie helped the nurses bring chairs
into the hall. They all took their seats and watched Finding Nemo on a large screen. At the
end, Ellie gave the hospital a check for fifty thousand dollars and tweeted a link to the
hospital's website so that her fans could also donate. She helped to clean up the hall and
said goodbye to all the children, it was almost 3 PM by the time she left.
One of the nurses was recording the whole event and posted the video of Ellie and the children
singing. This video went viral, receiving five million views in forty-eight hours. All the
other parts where Ellie played games with the children and watched the movie were also posted.
Ellie was praised for her actions by parents, online bloggers and newspaper journalists that
wrote articles about her. She was also in the news this morning, where sources confirmed that
one hundred thousand dollars were donated to the hospital after the video was posted.

Ellie Goulding on Good Morning America (500+)

*Ellie is introduced*
*Audience claps*
*Ellie sits down*
Interviewer: I just saw the video of you at the children's hospital and I have to tell
you that what you did was amazing.
Ellie: Thank you. I really felt like I needed to help out a good cause but I didn't just
want to give them the money, I wanted to spend some time with the children. At first I
was a bit nervous but it was really fun singing with the kids. I was supposed to leave
earlier but I stayed back, watched the movie and helped clean up. I really wanted to
entertain them and have a good time with them. Finding Nemo is one of my favorite movies
so I'd glad that the nurses picked it. I can't wait to do something like that again.
Interviewer: The video of you singing your new single Asleep with the kids also went viral.
Ellie: Yeah I saw that. I didn't even that that someone was filming everything. I'm glad
the video went viral because the hospital is getting lots of attention and donations so they
can use that money to buy better equipment and medicine.
Interviewer: Why did you pick that hospital?
Ellie: I always heard really good things about it so I looked it up online and found out that
they help a lot of children. I also saw that some children couldn't be helped because they
don't have all the correct machines or the money to buy them. They should have lots of money
now so I hope they can help every child with cancer.
Interviewer: Lets talk about your new album for a minute, is the release date confirmed?
Ellie: Yes, it is. It's coming out on the 4th of August and will have two promotional
singles. I will move on from Asleep a week after the album, so the second single will
be released on the 11th of August. This is all really exciting for me and I can't wait to
share it with all my fans.
Interviewer: Are there any details that you can reveal?
Ellie: There will be at least two collaborations or features, I think I already said
that it'll be very experimental for me. It's a mix of different genres but it's also not
all over the place. I think people will be surprised by it. It's just ten more days though.
I'll be revealing the tracklist and album cover soon!
Interviewer: Stay tuned for to see Ellie perform her new single Asleep!
There were over a thousand people in the audience. The stage had a few instrument on it that
started playing as soon as Ellie entered the stage. Ellie danced with four dancers on the
stage during the chorus. Some people in the audience were putting their hands out and Ellie
went over and touched them. One person grabbed her finger and wouldn't let go for two seconds.
The last chorus switched to the R3hab remix with lots of dancing and high notes.
