Rhythm Divine, Love To See You Cry and Tired Of Being Sorry would suggest that particular gimmick isn't really a guaranteed selling point. Has any Latin-pop song bar Bailamos smashed for him? If this succeeds it will be the second real hit he's had with that style.

Even if it was a style that guaranteed hits, well even when artists do things to sell (which for Enrique is most of the time) I like to think it's something they are comfortable with and ten plus years of him saying he isn't that influenced by Latin music and that he's a pop singer that happens to Latin and not a Latin-pop singer. I don't mind the occasional lapse into it but I wouldn't be here is that was all he was going to release.

He has hits that are Pop songs. I Like It, Tonight, Escape, Hero!!!

I personally feel that no one seems to care what sound Enrique goes for, as long as it is good and radio friendly. He's lucky to have the advantage of being an older man instead of being an older woman when it comes to radio (see J.Lo's situation) so all he has to do is make attention grabbing music and Bailando is so far doing that.

He knows it. He is saying this is only the second Latin-influenced hit he gets, and that he usually smashes in other styles. He means that people is here for the song, not that people would be buying if everything he had to offer were Bailando remakes

Its Sean Paul, but i agree. When he says words in english followed by "Contigo" i just cringe. The Spanish version remains one of the best songs released this year tho

But without the Spanglish version, it probably won't be charting this high at #23 on Billboard or getting a lot of radio airplay from Z100 and KIIS FM.

I know that, but whatever. If he didnt do that the US wouldnt like it. They have been ignoring many songs that are not in their language for years and years. I get the translation was needed, but it doesnt make it any better than the original
