Aguilera reveals book title - 'Lost In Translation'

Through her official twitter handle - @xtina - Christina Aguilera has revealed the title of her long-awaited and long-anticipated autobiographical book. It shall be mystifingly referred to as: 'Lost In Translation'. She has allegedly been planning this since the news of her pregnancy arose. Not much is known about the actual book itself, whether this is an ongoing franchise or not, although the Fighters can be sure to learn even more about their girl. We feel as though this is a brilliant idea since not many people known enough about the true Christina, so this shall prove to be quite a beneficial project this time around.
A few weeks ago, Aguilera's team had revealed that Christina was signed onto HarperCollins Publishers LLC in terms of a publishing deal. The high-profile book company already has linked tie-ins with the record label in which Xtina is signed under - Catalyst Fall Records. The CEO of CF Records has already revealed that Aguilera's commitments with HarperCllins Publishers LLC will not interfere with her latest era - "Pandora's Box" - in no such way, whatsoever. That's always wondrous news!
Xtina already has a lot of endorsement deals set up with various brand companies that are most probably household names. This shall prove to be another great one to add to the list. Aguilera has previously expressed her interest in dabbling into the world of literature so this shall be especially interesting for those who are looking for a summer read. She hasn't confirmed a release date, as of yet. Nevertheless, we do expect the book cover and press conference really. So, hopefully, all our questions and queries will be answered by then,
Her album "Pandora's Box" is now available for PURCHASE.
Aguilera's reggae-infused second single "Spitfire" f/ Azealia Banks is also available for PURCHASE.

Ten Ways Mariah have changed Music - AllMusic

She scored more hits and sold more records than any other artist since 1990 yet Mariah Carey’s impact on the popular culture remains strangely underrated. So, instead of waiting until the end of the life of this often unappreciated diva, let’s reflect on her legacy by acknowledging 10 of her key contributions to music. Whether as a result of unfavourable comparisons to her predecessor and only worthy rival, Whitney Houston, or because of her many shortcomings as a live entertainer, Carey has long been a target for harsh criticism by people who fail to appreciate her value. Indeed, by simply reading the comments of ignorant individuals across the blogosphere, it’s clear that Carey’s role as one of the most important artists of her time clearly misunderstood.
Luckily, some of us recognise that Carey is more than the big-haired, high-heeled, daft diva persona that she presents to the world. Rather, she is a cleverly disguised genius of song whose legacy has laid a foundation on which generations of artists can build their own careers. Now that I’ve gotten the thick layers of cheesy praise out of the way – thanks for the inspiration, Oprah – check out our list of 10 ways that Carey changed music below:
10. The Whistle Register Thanks to lungs of steel and melodramatic vocal performances, Carey has often been compared to Whitney Houston and Celine Dion as our generation’s answers to Aretha Franklin, Shirley Bassey and Barbra Streisand. Yet, Carey’s unique voice takes her more than just a step further than her peers. In fact, in musical terms, she goes more than 10 steps higher than they can ever dream of reaching. Carey’s range easily dwarfs all of her rivals and at the very top of her voice is the coveted whistle register, and she is able to reach 7-octaves. Yes, the great Minnie Riperton introduced those warbling high notes to popular music but Carey has helped music fans to rediscover the wonders of the human voice as her almost other worldly flourishes at the extremes of her range have become her trademark.
9. Songwriting Quick Music Minute: Did you know that Carey has written most #1 songs on the Billboard Hot 100 than any other woman (17)? Also, did you know that she is ranked as the third most successful songwriter in the chart’s history, behind only Paul McCartney (32) and John Lennon (26)? Of course, by writing I'm referring to sitting in a studio with pen and paper instead of paying for a slot in the credits. Carey’s melody-driven approach to composing music is influenced by Stevie Wonder, and her ability to disguise GRE and SAT level vocabulary as catchy singalong hits is what separates her from an ever-growing list of imitators. Even when Carey is being playful, her clever play on words remains a skill worthy of admiration. Here is an excerpt from Carey’s album track from her latest album (The Stygian Chevalier), called “Disguise” to help you better understand her songwriting skills:
Why did you even changed?
Hiding something so that's so obscure
Maybe you wore a disguise, a disguise........
Placing a peacock mask in front of you
8. Miss MOR Carey’s flexible voice and songwriting prowess made her one of the faces of MOR music during the 1990s. For those of you too young to know the term that has since lost popularity among critics, it simply means Middle of the Road, and it refers to material that is essentially a mix of various “soft” styles – Pop, Quite Storm R&B and Jazz. In other words, it’s the sound of modern Adult Contemporary Pop radio. Together with Houston, Dion and Sade, Carey satisfied easy listening music fans throughout the early 1990s with her pleasant blend of Pop, Gospel and R&B. Now, we have younger acts, such as Leona Lewis, trying to fill the void that Carey created when she chose a more blatantly Urban style but unfortunately for them, Adele is the new ruler of that market and has dominate the charts back in 2011 to early 2012 with her album, 21.
7. Christmas Champion Every Holiday season, there is one singer who gets more airplay than any other act and the person is Carey. Since releasing her Merry Christmas album in 1994, she became the voice of everything festive and the personification of Christmas cheer. Carey’s version of “O Holy Night” is widely considered the standard and most people actually only know her arrangement of the tune. Additionally, with the exception of Luther Vandross’ “Every Year, Every Christmas”, Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas is You” is quite possibly the only modern Holiday classic, despite the many failed attempts by several other artists to craft their own. I’ve heard dozens of impressive Holiday albums throughout the years but Carey’s Merry Christmas undoubtedly had the greatest cultural impact during the last few decades. Long after she has passed, “All I Want for Christmas is You” will continue to be a success as her true signature song and a lasting reminder of her musical genius.
6. Hip-Pop Pioneer We just mentioned that Carey took a detour into more obviously Urban music in the mid-1990s but what exactly does that mean? Well, she stripped off her former signature black dress, slipped into a two-piece, surrounded herself with rappers and became Pop music’s version of Mary J. Blige. Carey first became down with the streets when she teamed with the late Ol’ Dirty Bastard on the remix of “Fantasy” and the rest is history. Along with Diddy, who was then known as Puff Daddy, Missy Elliott, TLC and Jermaine Dupri, Carey pioneered the Hip-Pop movement and permanently blurred the lines between various genres. It was rare to see a Pop music singer, especially one of the grand MOR divas, sharing the limelight with rappers and Carey made it seem natural. Indeed, unlike the hard-edged Blige, Carey was a sugary sweet Pop princess known for her inspirational ballads and innocent appeal. Flash forward to 2013-2014, what was once considered a major risk is now the norm, and the Beyonces, Christina Aguileras and Rihannas happily follow in Carey’s footsteps. I would also argue that the Best Rap/Sung Collaboration title at the Grammy Awards wouldn’t exist without her but that’s a tale for another day.
5. Revolutionary Remixes Before Carey crafted remixes of her hits with rappers, she cemented her position as a trailblazer in another field – Dance music. Together with producers David Morales, and David Cole and Robert Clivilles of C+C Music Factory, Carey revolutionised the sounded of the American club scene. Carey joined forces with Morales to create the Def Club Mix of her monster 1993 hit “Dreamlover” and became one of the first artists to completely revamp a song for a remix. Nobody expected her to re-sing the track with fresh vocal arrangements and scat like a Jazz master over soaring synths for 10+ minutes but she did it anyway. Even after 24 years, her remixes for her latest singles, "Libidinous Dream" and album title track, "The Stygian Chevalier" is still surprisingly fantastic vocal-wise and production-wise combined. Sadly, such great effort is rarely exerted while creating remixes but Carey still carries the torch for the sake of gay clubs everywhere as the Donna Summer her generation.
4. So Many Samples Rappers love integrating a well placed sample into their music and so does Carey. Interestingly, most of her hits were based on interpolations and adaptations of other songs, and many young acts – Ashanti, Keri Hilson and Jennifer Lopez – have since emulated her style. See a list of some of Carey’s popular sample choices below:
“Dreamlover” - “Blind Alley” by The Emotions
“Fantasy” - “Genius of Love” by Tom Tom Club
“Honey” - “Hey DJ” by World’s Famous Supreme Team and “The Body Rock” by Treacherous Three
“The Roof” - “Shook Ones part II” by Mobb Deep
“Heartbreaker” - “Attack of the Name Game” by Stacy Lattisaw
"The Stygian Chevalier" - Fortunate by Maxwell
3. The Last of the Divas It seems as though it was just yesterday when divas ruled the world but then Madonna corrupted the youth with her vaginal antics. Long gone are the days when big voices, glamorous gowns and showgirl personas were the requirements for success. Instead, we are left with oversexed harlots who sell visuals instead of good music. Thankfully, Carey never fully abandoned her diva ways. The Butterfly era reintroduced her as star with more similarities to Janet Jackson than Whitney Houston but Carey remained a prima donna (see what I did there?) at heart. Just look at American Idol today and you’ll see how the young singers awkwardly try to channel the flair of past divas while Carey sits just metres away, larger than life in 6 inch heels and a Tom Ford gown.
2. Girl Power Carey never boasted about being a flagship figure for the girl power movement but she certainly fits the bill. In an industry dominated by men, her many successes have helped to opened doors for other women, regardless of their ethnicity, to reach the top of the charts. Standing in a ball park with a very short list of artists, Carey’s accomplishments are what younger acts strive to match. She has 18 #1 singles on the Hot 100 (second only to The Beatles’ 20), she spent a total 79 weeks at the top of the chart (more than any other performer), her record sales exceed a reported 200 million (most of which are albums, not ringtones) and she is the only singer in history to land the Billboard Song of the Decade twice. I could keep listing Carey’s achievements but I don’t have all day.
1. Complex Vocals Performances & also Good At Blending Genres Some people regard Whitney Houston as the greatest singer of our generation but I humbly disagree and attribute that title to Carey. There is no doubt that the former influenced millions of vocalists, including her “When You Believe” collaborator, but she never displayed Carey’s level complexity or versatility. Carey experiments with the various colours and textures of her voice in a way that no other artist in Pop music has done to date. With her incredible sense of pitch, she draws of the precision timing of Ella Fitzgerald, the styling of Sarah Vaughan, range of Minnie Riperton and the grit of Aretha Franklin. Really, Carey is a chameleon in every sense of the word as she switches her approach to suit every genre that she sings – Jazz, Gospel, R&B, Soul, Pop, Dance, Soft Rock, Hip-Hop and Country. That attention of detail continues to inspire other artists who eagerly attempt to imitate her breathy coos and knotty vocal runs, the latter of which Carey used to rebrand the modern ballad via “Vision of Love” and again with “We Belong Together”. Her latest album, "The Stygian Chevalier" alone has shown her versatility in mixing different genres too by mixing genres such as Disco with Trap or Alternative-Soul with Jazz. The album has since produced two hit singles which is "Libidinous Dream" and the album title track, "The Stygian Chevalier".
-AllMusic __________________________________________________ ________________________
Both digital and physical sales of her singles, "Libidinous Dream" and album title track, "The Stygian Chevalier" up rised up the charts worldwide due to the exposure of this review. Her latest album, "The Stygian Chevalier" has also experienced increase in sales too.

The Chevalier's Tour - Day 4

The promo tour in Australia has kicked off with a blast. The last time Mariah came for touring in Australia, what seemed like the perfect way to celebrate the start of 2013 last year, and Mariah’s long-anticipated return, turned out to be something of a misfire. She sounded incredible — hitting notes not heard since her ’90s hey-day — but the show was plagued by technical issues. There was a problem with the microphone in MC’s ear and she let everyone know about it at every available opportunity. But for her promo tour this time, the tour went on smoothly without any technical errors. Mariah Carey surprised fans when she decided to perform "The Stygian Chevalier ft. Jason Aldean (Country Pop Remix) and invited him out to perform. Another shocker was when Mariah decided perform an acoustic version of "Meteorite" with just a guitar, backing vocals and percussions. The physical copies of both her singles, "Libidinous Dream", "The Stygian Chevalier" and her album, "The Stygian Chevalier" were completely sold out on the spot. Merchandises such as Mariah's limited edition T-shirt were sold out too. Another highlight was that a cancer patient gets her dream in opening for Mariah Carey.

Britney Spears On Le Grand Journal
-------

-------
Britney stopped by Le Grand Journal in France earlier today for an interview + performance.
Highlights:
-Your fans in France love the new album it's been at the top of iTunes all week and so has your new single "Touchin' Me" with Rihanna, how does it feel to get such positive feedback?
Britney: Oh my gosh thank you guys so much! It feels great to be supported here and I'm so excited to bring the second date of my tour here tonight!
-Your new album "American Dream" is very sensual to say the least, what do you say to your young fans about the more provocative lyrics?
Britney: Cover your ears! I love all my fans but some of the stuff on there is a little mature yeah, they can get the clean version *giggles*.
-The video is very controversial and you and Rihanna have been making headlines all week, is it all for attention?
Britney: Uhm no not necessarily, we had to be creative and do something different because I mean we didn't wanna do what everybody else has already done before. It was a little risky for sure but I think it played out well.
-Did you actually have a threesome with Rihanna?
Britney: No! I can't believe she said that haha
-Your tour is sold out tonight in France, will you come back here for another night?
Britney: For sure! Not next week but I'll be back, definitely.
-Is it true that you have a new fragrance coming out?
Britney: Yes, very soon.. I might be releasing an advert today, actually. It's called Lascivious Fantasy
-Who are your favorite artists at the moment?
Britney: Gosh so many, I love Rita, Marina, & Céline and I'm happy they're opening for my tour. I also love Kylie, Taylor, Rihanna, Mariah, Azealia and a few others.
-Celine is going to be at the show tonight in France, correct? Will she be debuting some new stuff?
Britney: Perhaps, you'll have to wait and see! I'm so happy she is gonna be there tonight, she's an incredible artist and France loves her!
-------
Britney also performed "Gimme Your Best/Touchin' Me" on the small studio stage.
The performance started with Britney wearing a long red gown as she sang a slowed down version of Gimme Your Best completely live, smoke surrounded Britney as she moved slowly around the stage. Halfway through the song, Britney pulled the red dress off and revealed a bra+pant outfit, she danced heavily to an up-beat remix of "Touchin' Me". Rihanna shockingly walked onto the stage wearing the same outfit and starting dancing with Brit Brit. The crowd was happy to see Rihanna. Smoke surrounded the stage as the girls popped their bodies on the stage. They then crawled to each other as fire surrounded them. Water started raining down on them as the gurls touched each other on the ground, the performance ended with the girls on the ground as smoke surrounded them.
A picture of Britney's "American Dream" album cover was displayed over the ending credits.

Mariah's Australian Cancer patient Opening Act's Story

Nearly six weeks after having her left leg amputated, sixteen-year-old Becca Solodon stood in front of her hometown Melbourne, Australia crowd Monday night as Mariah Carey's opening act. Clad in all black, Solodon sang a cover of the Lifehouse song "Hanging By A Moment" and also covering Mariah's album track and single from her latest album, "I'm Not Done" and "The Stygian Chevalier" acoustically, putting a triumphant cap on a year that began with a mysterious ailment. "My foot started hurting about a year ago and we went to a ton of different doctors, took X-Rays, I did physical therapy and nobody knew what it was," says Solodon. "Finally we asked if we could have an MRI and they found a soft tissue mass, a tumor the size of a marble and I went through surgery to get that removed and then they were like 'Yeah, everything's fine.' But then they called back five days later and said 'There's still some there and it's malignant.'"
Diagnosed with soft tissue sarcoma, Solodon underwent several chemotherapy sessions before having her leg amputated at mid-calf on May 31st, after doctors determined the operation was the only way to thwart the potentially life-threatening tumor. Solodon's path to the stage was paved by Damion Young, a songwriter and producer who has written songs for Carey and rapper Kurupt. A New Zealand native, Young helmed a recording session earlier in the year at Westlake Studios, where keyboardist Ronnie King (Offspring, Snoop Dogg) and a group of professional musicians backed Solodon in a fourteen-hour session.
"I started telling her [Carey] that I met this little girl that changed my life," Young says. "I said that Becca made me realize why we do all this, because her only dream was to spend one day in the studio. And she was like, 'I'm on tour, what can we do?' I said, 'Santa Barbara,' and she said, 'Perfect. Opening act. Set it up. Bye.'" After performing "Simon" with King, in front of an audience that included her father, mother, brother, grandmother and a high-pitched contingent of classmates from her local high school in Australia went backstage to meet Carey. "She said, 'Thank you for singing,'" says Solodon. "Oh, and, 'Hello.'" Becca also said she loved Mariah's new album, called "The Stygian Chevalier" and decided to cover a song from the album because it made her cry. Becca's story has since made news headlines worldwide and the public's reception was very positive because Mariah gave the cancer patient, Becca to do an opening act for her. Mariah's singles and album experienced an increase of sales due to this incident. Becca's performance of "I'm Not Done" has since been uploaded on YouTube and has gotten over 5 million views so far.

Kylie Minogue covers Vogue
(click image to see full size)

or
Article in text
Keep on dancing till the world ends,” a glimpse of what I heard when a person walked on by listening to a uptempo pop song reminded me of Kylie Minogue. It’s July 5th, 12pm, and I am sitting down waiting for Kylie Minogue to arrive. I just remembered, “Oh my god! I am meeting Kylie Minogue,” I thought to myself. Kylie wanted to do this in an intimate room without anybody except me there, “I’m more open,” she said to my few days ago on the phone. I am walking through this fancy hotel room looking through things, that’s when I heard the bell ring. “Hello! good morning” Minogue’s soft sweet voice spoke.
Minogue is 46, neat, sparkly and glamorous. She was wearing a black thin coat, dark blue jeans, black high heals and sunglasses covering her eyes. Walking in the hotel room, “This room is so nice!” she told me. As she was putting her sunglasses on the table, I hear Apple’s ‘Presto’ ringtone that freaked me out a little bit because the room was quite, “Sorry that’s my phone, I have to take this.” she voiced. I went to the small modern kitchen and poured some wine in two glasses as Minogue was talking on the phone standing behind the bathroom. Two minutes later we sat down and looked at each other, I was nervous. “Did you try the breakfast here?” she said to me. “No, I checked in one hour ago.”
I pulled out two papers full of list of questions from my backpack I wanted her so badly to answer, she sighted her Abby Road Sessions CD, “Did you like that?” she asked, “Like what?” I curiously questioned her, “My CD” she responds, “Oh, yes! I actually listened to at on the way here, it’s amazing.” I said, “Thank you!” she replied to me.“Since we’re talking about your acoustic album, I have a question relating to that.” I said, “Fire away!” she told me. “Are you going to do another acoustic or stripped down album?” I asked excitedly, “You never know, I had so much fun making the abby road sessions specially because I was at a spiritual state recording it. The music really moved me and it was amazing how I saw my songs turned into ballads, it was really beautiful and I would want to do it again.” she answered in detail. “And you also have Flower in it which was an unreleased song your fans loved and you decided to include it in the album, do you have any unreleased songs you want to release?” I questioned her, “Well, not really. Everything I have released so far I have been very happy with, My label is so supportive of me and would pursue anything I believe in considering my career.” she said.
“with this record, you said you worked with a lot of different producers, can you explain?” I asked her politely, “I’ve worked with really amazing people for this album, I felt like we were a family honestly. The album’s vision is really dark and really different from anything I’ve done so far, I’m kind of scared of how the people, especially my fans, will respond to it because it’s so different but it’s still me!” she explained, “But you said you’re still confident with it, how so?” I said, “because beside the fact that it’s different, I think it’s the best work I’ve done so far, the energy I get from listening to some of the tracks are empowering yet dark visually. It’s a really special album and it gets your attention, defiantly.” she briefly clarified.
“Your album is called ‘Distant Days,’ that’s a beautiful name, why did you describe your thirteenth studio album with that title?” I asked her, “Thank you! It’s actually the title of the first track from the album, when you listen to the word ‘Distant Days’ you probably would think that the song will be about a distant relationship, it’s not.” Kylie laughs, “It’s about revenge actually, it’s a really dark song, the chorus goes like ‘now that you’re ten feet underground, I’m enjoying these distant days’” she said as my eyes get wide.
I ask her about what how she feels towards the record now that she finished it, she answered “I’m really proud, when you finish the album all the fun things start, the music videos, promotion and releasing the album it self. We finished shooting the album photo shoot few days ago and it showed a new side of me, it’s almost like an alter ego. It was shot by Mert and Marcus who both have done an amazing job, and their work are known for unusual things you see in the magazines.”
Kylie’s known for reinventing herself, so when I heard that comment I was really excited because I, myself, am I huge fan of her work and cannot wait to see this new direction she’s taking. She recently launched new collection of swimwear clothing with Versace and so far it has been selling like hot cakes, she also announced the release of her new fragrance ‘Free’ which she worked with Elizabeth Arden and the description of it was simply wonderful, ’t’s notes are kiwi, white chocolate, peach, roses and vanilla. It is sweet smelling and shows the promised peach and vanilla with a very light layer of oranges.’
Now that I covered almost everything about the new album, I had to ask about her future. “Where do you see yourself in twenty years?” I ask, “Dead,” she humorously joked as I laughed, her face turned serious and she spoke, “I really don’t know, probably still making music for my fans.”
I asked about her future plans this year and she told me that she might be releasing a new book, how exciting!
Minogue has outdone every other pop star this year, she really showed us how hard she works and the year hasn’t even ended.
Kylie picks up her glass of wine and drinks, “This is wonderful!” she cries, “It’s Miazma” I reply, “You have got to tell me where you got these from so I can buy them” she said, “Should I text your assistant?” I said, “No, send it right away to me” she answered me as I hold my phone to text her the address. At that moment I realized how normal Kylie is, she even goes out and gets her own wine!
as I put my iPhone 4S on the table, I sprout “I must say, your song ‘In Your Eyes’ is my favorite” my fan-girling finally begins, “Thank you dear!” she politely said.
Now, we have got to talk about that little incident of hers everybody witnessed, “How did you deal with it?” I said, “As anyone would, I guess.” she responds, “What did you do after you got off the red carpet?” I asked, “I was utterly shocked, I asked myself ‘Did that really happen?’ It was crazy and scary, my assistant kept saying that it’s okay and I kept hearing the photographers chant my name so loud, it was one of those moments where you mind gets crowded by your thoughts and what’s actually happening” she replies.
Finally, I tell her the interview is done and she smiled back at me, “It was nice” her soft voice spoke, “Thank you Kylie for this opportunity” I nervously said, “Your welcome sweetie, don’t forget the wine!” she laughs.
