Unfortunately this is Jhene's last entry and I'm sure some of you are happy as the hate for the song has been going on strong by a few posters. This was a spring anthem in the urban community, you couldn't escape this song on urban radio or little girls attempting to sing this. It was once annoying to me but it has really grown on me and I've learned to respect her melodies and poetic & percussive writings. She's doing her own thing BUT I'm going to need to see something different in the future or it'll just get boring (if it's not already to some of you).
BYE. At this making it past so many of my 10s in this update.
She's not terrible (Bed Peace/Comfort Inn Ending prove it) but you're right her songs end up blending into one another and they're filled to the brim with cliches.
The new wave of: 2014
It's been a long journey for her, she's been in the game for 10 years, writing songs and singing on tracks with B2K to name a few. In 2013 Aiko went from being supporting player to finally a stand-alone star with her EP "Sail Out". Now with one of the few songs in the rate that actually received commercial success, "The Worst," . Jhene is certainly on her way to finally getting some recognition and stardom in 2014. She's already been backed by hip-hop and r&b Miguel, Drake, Big Sean, John Legend and Kanye West as well as many others and the urban world is anticipating for her debut release this year.
Other popular tracks:
"My Mine", "Comfort Inn Ending", "From Time (with Drake)", "To Love & Die"
Kulala needs to leave. I don't get her at all. Distant spacey beat and nothing else...
That Quadron thingy was painful to look at, so she needs to go as well.
KFC Wigs is also really bad...
& Kimbra is just
His production always has nice build-ups, beautiful layers, sounds, effects, loopings and absence of sound. "Wilhelm Scream" is innovative 90s R&B and it's one of his best from his early stuff.
