The album opened at #1 with 1,000,000 copies and went on to sell 10 million+. And it wasn't necessarily a comeback, more of a continuance, since "From The Bottom of My Broken Heart" was released 2 months before "Oops! I Did It Again", the song was released.
It went to #1 on radio though. But again, the album sold a lot of copies in the first week, released only a month after the single, and went on to become her second Diamond album. THAT'S VERY GOOD. LOL.

You're right. OIDIA sold over 1.3 million copies first week though.
And OIDIA, the single, didn't go to #1 because it didn't have a physical single released. BOMT, for example, only hit #1 because of that. 'Crazy' was a bigger (overall) airplay hit than BOMT and yet only peaked at #10 on the Hot 100, once again because it didn't have a physical single.
The fact that Jive didn't release physical singles in the US back then was a smart move though - Britney didn't get better single peaks, but got huge album sales. If I were to choose between other two or three Hot 100 #1s and a Diamond album, I'd do the same Jive did.
