I think people who justify bootlegging music because the artists make "too much money" anyway is a weak argument. If you consume a product such as music, you should pay for it. Why should you pay nothing for it? It wasn't free for the song to be produced, mixed, mastered, and simply created overall. And yes, the most popular entertainers are paid sometimes astronomical amounts of money, but what about how your money benefits the music industry itself? A weaker music industry in general, such as what is happening right now, will lead to less profits for a LABEL (because other people have to make money besides the well-paid artist, obviously), meaning less budget for newer and other artists
besides the big ones to use.
Basically, that whole excuse is selfish. There are other things to think about besides the personal salaries of the biggest artists. Your money is divided among many different parties , and it goes towards different things.
