By fit the album, I mean... Sound similar to the tracks on the standard version of the album.
By fit the flow of the album, I mean... The ARTIST, not one of us, doesn't feel like the song deserves to be on the album because it disrupts the flow (and/or balance) of the album. (S)he feels like it is a good enough track to still be included on a version of the album... Deluxe, a store exclusive, etc.
All I'm trying to say is that at the end of the day if Nicki decides to add Bang Bang to the deluxe edition of TPP like Ariana did, she has every right to. She is one of the lead artists and it is as much her track as Jessie and Ariana's. If it becomes a hit, it can help make the album appeal to more people, especially if the remaining singles we get from TPP are very urban-leaning and don't crossover to pop.

Adding Bang Bang to the end of the deluxe edition of the album (iTunes exclusive?) really isn't a big deal if she does it. I just don't understand why they would have the song be a joint single if each artist is going to have it featured on their album.
|
Listen, I just don't want another Check it Out situation. Because as I recall that was also a joint single that also was not a hit. It could have easily been placed into the deluxe section & was not.
Can it be possible that Bang Bang made Ari's album because it meshed well with the album?

Or maybe she didn't want the standard to have 22 tracks on it.
And "doesn't feel like the song deserves to be on the album because it disrupts the flow (and/or balance) of the album."?
Sex In The Lounge & Check It Out. I'll leave it at that.

It was a mild hit in the US (peaking around the same place as PnP, if I remember correctly) and #11 in the UK (off the top of my head, I think).
And read the last paragraph of my post above yours.

That's a decision NICKI made not me.
And it is Nicki's decision at the end of the day whether or not she includes Bang Bang on the deluxe version of the album and considering she has kept Check It Out + a number of tracks that ruined the flow of RR, y'all should realize that it is possible that she might include the track. Y'all can be against BB being on the album, but that doesn't mean it won't be. I'm keeping an open mind because you never know with Nicki.
Let me stress this, as it was an edit to a previous post:

Alright.
But that doesn't mean she should put it on TPP, ESPECIALLY if it doesn't "fit" or "flow" well with the album.

And we've gotten tracks before that don't fit or flow well on her albums before. I was just trying to say that generally that is what goes through an artist's mind when (s)he finalizes the tracklisting... Something about a track stands out to him/her in a way that (s)he decides to move it to deluxe. Therefore, it shouldn't be a surprise to y'all if she does add it.
The standard version of an album =/= the deluxe version of an album.

I agree with you about it being Nicki's right to include it. But all I'm saying is if she wants a cohesive body of work, & Bang Bang ends up sounding nothing like the rest of the album, why include it?
If RR had been an all urban album, wouldn't TMO seem like a ridiculous & unnecessary track on the bonus deluxe edition (despite it's success)?
Yes, she's included joint singles before that disrupted the album's flow, but this is supposed to be a cohesive body of work. This is different, & should be acted on & presented differently if you ask me.

Rock Star was trash.
Nic's verse was trash. Glad it didn't make the cut.

Nicki herself, has said that she looks at the deluxe & standard as ONE entire album. I'm sure you already know this.

She wants a CLASSIC. HIP HOP/URBAN. ALBUM. this time around.
Cohesiveness. Direction. Flow.
If BB doesn't fit the sound of the album, why would she include it?

So if RR was a rap/urban album & M.I.A put GMAYL on her album, you think Nicki would do the same?

And, once again, then that is something that Nicki has to consider when finalizing the tracklisting.
Yes, she is very focused on the direction of this album but she also said that she isn't trying to make a certain genre of music while creating this album... It is "Onika" aka a blend of pop and rap which she has been making for this entire decade so far.

That isn't even similar to this situation.
