Today marks the release date of pop star Bonnie McKee's debut EP, titled 'Young Love'.
The new record was proceeded by lead single "Smile", which is currently storming up the charts. Bonnie has already promoted the song in the US, the UK and Australia, but doesn't plan on stopping there.
The Smile singer confesses that world domination is the plan, "I want to make the world smile! That's all that I want. That's the ultimate goal. I guess you could call that world domination, haha!" And world domination is certainly not out of the question, the star has already made quite an impact within the K-pop community, after Korean girl group 2NE1 covered her song. "It was such a surprise, but a really great one. Yeah I definitely think that the Asian market is something worth exploring. If they love my songs, then I'm always excited to gain new fans!"
Bonnie's also becoming quite the ambassador for humanitarianism. Bonnie's charity, the self-titled 'Bonnie McKee Foundation', has already raised hundreds of thousands of dollars in the efforts to help sick children living in poor conditions in Africa. Television advertisements supported by her hit single "Smile" and featuring first hand footage of the living conditions of some of the children have helped to boost the success of the charity and increase awareness of the issue.
'Young Love', the debut EP by Bonnie, features seven brand new tracks, including the hit single "Smile", title track "Young Love" and others such as "Look What U Got" and "Disaster". Bonnie has described track "Look What U Got" as a pre-breakup anthem, expressing how a particular guy didn't know what he had until it was gone, while "Disaster" is a pop ballad about a failed relationship.
Sphinx Records, Bonnie's record label, are set to release a total of three singles from the EP, but just which songs are to be released is currently unknown. Rumour has it that potential candidates for the second single are "Young Love" and "Disaster", with "Young Love" being the favoured option, but nothing is set in stone. Promotion for lead single "Smile" will continue on into the coming weeks.
Bonnie is set to tour the US on the 'Summer Smile' tour, which begins on July 14th, 2014. The tour will most likely feature a setlist containing tracks from her EP, including the smash hit single "Smile", as well as previous songs recorded prior to signing to Sphinx Records, "American Girl" and "Sleepwalker".
It is also rumoured that Bonnie may perform outtakes from the 'Young Love' EP, and possibly some new material from her forthcoming sophomore studio album, sources claim. Bonnie is yet to make any comment in regards to confirming or denying these rumours.
Earlier this morning, Mariah Carey went to the Spotify Headquarters in the United Kingdom to perform a few songs off her latest album, "The Stygian Chevalier" on Spotify Live Sessions. Mariah's Live Session was largely advertised on all social media websites such as Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Google+ and more. The hashtag #mclivesessions was trending worldwide on Twitter for 24 hours before Mariah's Live Sessions begun. Due to the hype surrounding this, approximately 12 million people worldwide had tuned into Mariah's Live Sessions. "Due to the introduction of the digital era, artists who have an older fanbase will suffer if they don't find a way to blend in and introduce their music to the younger generation, therefore I am very excited that people like Mariah Carey has slowly started to embrace and use the digital era as their advantage", as stated from the founder of Spotify, Daniel Ek.
According to some of the Spotify staffs on Twitter, Mariah wore a black sparkling shirt with the word "I'm A Chanteuse" and jeans with beautiful glitter all over. It is said that Mariah also brought 'dembabies' for a visit to the Spotify Headquarters. Mariah Carey herself revealed the setlist for her Live Sessions before she started performing them. Here is the setlist below:
Setlist:
1. Libidinous Dream
2. The Stygian Chevalier
3. I'm Not Done
4. Mirror In The Dark
Mariah sat down and welcomed all the people who tuned in worldwide. "Hi dahhlings, and welcome to my Live Sessions !! And thank you to everyone who bought my single "Libidinous Dream" and my album "The Stygian Chevalier" last week !! I never thought I could sell this much after 24 years in the music industry to be honest." With only a grand piano and backing vocalist, she started her iconic melisma runs which reminded everyone else on who pioneered the melisma runs. After that, the acoustic intro of "Libidinous Dream" kicks in, she showed a more emotional side in her vocals as she sang "Libidinous Dream", which she has never done before in her other live performances of the same song. Her whistle register notes were perfect and not pitchy, as she was backed up by the backing vocalists.
After a heartfelt performance of "Libidinous Dream", the intro of the album track of the same name, "The Stygian Chevalier" kicks in as she whispers in her mic. "Beware, don't come close, for The Stygian Chevalier is here". The vocals were so on point, it sounded similar to the album track. She also did something different by doing an acapella outro in the end with only the backing vocalist backing her up which made the song sounded more melodious. After that she answered a few questions that were posted by her fans on Facebook and Twitter.

Q: Any idea what the 2nd single would be? MC: The label and I are still choosing! It is either "The Stygian Chevalier", "Mirror In The Dark" or "Disguise", but I personally feel that "The Stygian Chevalier" which is the album track of the same name has to be the single because it is something that I have done before, and it is also outside of my comfort zone which is a risk. This song's title became the album's title for a reason, and I personally feel that it could be a "We Belong Together" size hit if my label and I promote this on a big scale.
Q: How are 'dembabies' coping with Bianca ? MC: They are coping really well in my honest opinion! They sometimes take her as a joke because she can be annoying at times. Roc calls her an annoying brat while Roe calls her a real life Disney Maleficent *giggles*
Q: Have you hated Bianca back in the day? MC: I don't think 'hated' was the correct word, more like 'dislike' to be quite honest. I mean, she is my very dark alter ego which I am scared to face. Everyone has a dark side, but not everyone can face them. I tried facing her myself and showing her to the public back in 1999, but she made a mess during the MTV Special which was scary. After that I kept her deep inside my heart for the next 15 years before I decided that it is time that I have to face her again.
Q: Use a word to describe your album's journey. And why that word ?? MC: Exhilarating. Because I feel prohibited by my past labels and so it made me scared to venture to the experimental path. So when I had the freedom to go out of my comfort zone, I just went all out to be quite honest dahhling and I felt something thrilling in my heart for the first time in a very long time since my "Butterfly" days. I feel emancipated again for the third time dahhling *laughs*
After the short Q&A session, Mariah resumed the Spotify Live Sessions. "This is the album track which got featured in the Stand Up To Cancer commercial, and it means a lot to me personally, it is called "I'm Not Done", hope ya'll will enjoy it !!", Mariah says as the intro of the of "I'm Not Done" kicks in. The live performance of the song is more mellowed down in terms of belting and production compared to the studio version. She showcased more of her lower vocal range and agility, and she went a key lower than normal in the last chorus before hitting a whistle note in between. Mariah went on to the last performance, which is "Mirror In The Dark". The live performance of this song was spot on with the vocal runs. She also managed to sustain a note live in the last chorus for 14 seconds. Mariah's Live Sessions came to an end with that performance. "Thank you for all the people who have tuned in, I really hope the label will release a Live EP in the near future !! But for now, it is available on Spotify for streaming !! Bye dahhling..." Mariah said as Mariah's Live Session ended.
Mariah's Spotify Live Sessions have since gotten positive attention from the media for being down to earth and relatable compared to her diva-ish attitudes she has showed these past few years. And it is confirmed that "Camouflage" records has striked a deal with Spotify on something which will be revealed later. Mariah's assistant filmed the Live Sessions and have uploaded it to her Vevo channel, and it has gotten 5 million views so far with no dislikes at all.
After the release of her Netflix exclusive special, Marina and The Diamonds has taken to tumblr to release info about a deal between her and the streaming service Netflix.
Quote:
"I wanted everyone to know that your kind words regarding the special means the world to me. I want to thank Netflix for putting their trust in me and letting the special be the video it is today. I hope the special has made it more available for artists who aren't really huge like me to provide an Unplugged-like special for their fans. Before I get on this plane to fly to Ellen to co host, I wanted to tell everyone about what else me and Netflix have coming up. My NBC/BBC special, American Queen, will be exclusively be streamed on Netflix with a few extra scenes added in. A documentary series is being filmed and will be released when my album is out. A collection will be compiled on Netflix of all my music videos, most with director's cuts. Finally, a secret project I'm working on will be released on Netflix in the upcoming month. It will not be an exclusive entirely, but it will be a pivotal part of the project. Again, thank you all for your support and I can't wait to bring my vision to you all this year."
The second single off of her sophomore album, Azealia Banks released "Paradiso" today off of her album Reborn. Produced by Gold Panda and Diplo, this song is a mix of hip hop and dance, producing the genre known by many as "Trip Hop." Sent to radios immediately by Dreamcream Recordings, Paradiso is a song about paradise and it samples Azealia Banks' song off of her debut mixtape "Fantasea" With a 50 second snippet reproduced by OWWWLS, this song is familiar to both old fans and new fans with Azealia's sound used commonly on her new album Reborn and recognizable to old fans as the witch hop feel from Fantasea.
With two brand new producers, the only recognizable part of the song is the beginning of the song which uses the same lyrics as the Fantasea track. With a chorus of Azealia cooing "Paradiso-o-oooo", this song both remains true to the Azealia we've heard before while having Azealia experiment with different genres and sounds. This experimental followup single to the number one hit "Vibes" is expected to do well on radio and has already had a music video filmed and is expected to be premiered later this week.

Lemme bump this real quick since it keeps on crashing
According to reliable inside sources from "Camouflage" Records, it is revealed that Carly had a breakdown and started crying leaving the CAL Chart Party after finding out her lead single "Searching For My Career" debuted lower than expectations. Just 2 years ago, Carly Rae Jepsen was on top of the world with her huge viral hit, "Call Me Maybe" and her future was shining like a star. Who would have thought her star fire had faded so fast ? Apparently she even tried commiting suicide after the incident since it broke her heart too much. "Her promotion was severely lacking last week, that is why it debuted so low on the charts." said a market analyst from Canada.
The situation has since gotten huge media attention. Carly haters flocked like chickens and drag her for filth on her official Twitter account and Facebook page. "Finally, the queen of delusions is having a breakdown, she deserves it and I hope she kills herself." an anonymous hater wrote on Twitter. "Camouflage" Records have yet to release an official statement to this situation.
How would you guys feel if the week still ended the same, on Saturday night.
But if the charts came Monday?
The new week would start Sunday, and the charts would come Monday so I would have 2 days to work on it and everything + the Magazine maybe would be finalized.
