also, i remember a few months before fancy started blowing up, there were so many comments here (i probably made a couple of them myself) saying how she would never be huge, how nobody would take her seriously, how she would never get off the ground and would always be bubbling under, etc. so now that shes made it somewhat big, why is everyone acting like it was a sure thing from the jump?
maybe im a little more sensitized to this because im an eminem stan and ive seen so many people talk like he didnt have to put in any work to make it and that all the success just fell into his lap, no talent required. But even though im not huge on iggy's music, some people obviously are, and i remember the time before she made it big where she put out mixtapes and shot videos and did features and shows and i know for a fact that she had to work for her current success. So even though of course her skin color and looks and nationality are all attention grabbers, i still dont like seeing her hard work belittled so completely like this
