If you are @ 9 points and you knowing break the rules, you should be banned. A point is a point, no matter if you have 0 or 19.

Yeah but I've got a warning point in my bin right now for saying "Let me not. I don't need to points." for being off-topic when I see it written over ATRL all the time and I've never seen it warned/reported. I was simply withholding my opinion because I didn't want to offend anyone, but I wanted to be like "I'm thinking something but I'm not going to say it

" - and like I said, people do it on here all the time.
Another time I got a point for disruptive for posting this gif:
When the only reason I had this gif was because multiple people were commenting it after my essays, and they never got warned.
My point is, people can be 100% aware of the rules, and think that they're following them, and are being good members contributing to interesting conversations and yet they still get warned because some rules seem to be so exploitable or even made up on the spot.
Like MCMXCVIl just showed, he got punched out for saying "hey I really like your signature

" Is that behaviour really so horrible or detrimental to the site that it warrants excluding someone from joining in for 30 days? Or even giving them a single point? It's not like he was going "LOL KATY PERRY CAN'T SING LIVE LOL LADY GAGA IS FAT AND FLOPPING LOL RIHANNA GOT BEAT UP."
I've read the rules multiple times so I can be sure to avoid getting points and every time I get points I'm like:
