Yesterday, Carly Rae Jepsen stated that the lead single of her upcoming album is "just for the kii's" and is a fun track. Today, Carly unveils the the art cover of her lead single online. The song titled "Searching For My Career" is said that it was inspired by an Atrl's post which gone viral. The cover art featured her looking through a telescope to search for something which is revealed to be her career.

A teen pop song, this 3:20 long song had her singing about where's her career and will she be able to impact the charts again. The infectious hook that grabs people's attention, is reminisce of Carly's 9 week #1 hit "Call Me Maybe". Max Martin expressed joy that this song will be the lead single. "I'm excited for her. This song is a great firestarter, and this song show a glimpse of what the album will sound like."

Carly stated that meeting Max Martin and collaborating with him was a dream come true. "He's seriously a talented guy. People just brush him off as a pop producer, but he's a great songwriter too !!" Zendaya & Taylor visit Power LA radio station



Both Zendaya and Taylor visited Power LA radio station studios together earlier today to give an exclusive interview on their new collaboration "Gunshots" and also to premiere their single on the radio for the first time, because officially, nobody has played the new version on radio, just yet. Both girls seemed to be excited to visit Power LA studios as they decided to bring their own champagne and celebrate the premiere in the studio. Right before they went inside, both Zendaya and Taylor posed for the photographers outside of the studios as they seemed to be pretty much excited to continue promoting their single. It wasn't the first time that old version of "Gunshots" played on the radio, but it was the first time that the new version, which features Taylor Swift, played on radio. Plus, Zendaya's label, Republic Records, sent out the track for radio adds immediately right after its radio premiere. Although the girl duo decided to bring their own champagne to the studios, they didn't even drink it, probably because Zendaya is still underage, so they just gave the champagne to interviewers. They had a friendly interview and they talked about various things, starting with what their single is about and ending up with questions like how they ended up in the studio together. Both girls answered the questions friendly and honestly, and they also threw some jokes that made everyone in the studios laugh, which made everyone think that Zendaya and Taylor are quite good friends. Right after Zendaya talked about her upcoming new album and her new songs that she performed last night at iHeartRadio Live Session event in Los Angeles, they also interviewed Taylor when they asked her about her new EP that is out now on iTunes (go get it bitches) and also about what happened between her and Paige.

Host: So today, these two girls decided to shake things up and surprised music industry by dropping a bomb - they just released their collaborative single, which is called "Gunshots", out of nowhere. Please welcome Zendaya and Taylor Swift!

Host: Let me ask this straight away - how did you end up getting in the studio together?
Zendaya: Well, yeah, we basically just met each other in the studio, and it happened really quickly. Once I saw her in the same studio that I was, I just decided to risk, I walked to her, I introduced myself and I offered her a collaboration, and I was expecting to be rejected by Taylor, but somehow, I have no idea why, she agreed to collaborate with me, and it's honestly amazing. I know, I know, that's weird to see completely different artists collaborate with each other, but it's more fun and interesting taking the risk than doing something that's already out there.
Host: Yesterday, Zendaya, you performed some of your new songs at that iHeartRadio Live Session here in Los Angeles. Can you tell us something about those songs and maybe you can say something about your upcoming new sophomore album?
Zendaya: Um, basically, I just wanted to introduce my new sound to my audience and fans, because they had no idea how my new music sounds, since I teased them and told them that it's different from what I've been doing. "Gunshots" is probably a perfect introduction to this upcoming album, because even if I want to explore urban side, I'm still a pop singer, and this album is basically a good and polished mixture of something rhythmic, urban and pop. I personally love this new sound, I think it's super chill, fun, there are some oldschool R&B vibes on that album, some Aaliyah, Michael Jackson, Beyonce influenced songs. It's a whole new step that I'm doing this kind of music now, because I feel like I'm growing up and my sound is slowly changing as well. Yesterday, at the iHeartRadio Live Session event, I performed four new songs - "Gunshots", "Boheme", "Pasadena Tattoo" and "Pistols". Since you know the whole story about "Gunshots", let me explain the meaning of other songs instead. So on "Boheme" I'm singing about the how I personally think it's bad to idolize perfection, how it's bad to have stereotypes, having certain thoughts on something that's different. I think that a lot of people can relate to this song, and I hope this song will help someone to get through their day - I mean, if someone gets bullied for being different or standing out and standing up for their opinion, I hope that this song will help them realize that being different, having a different opinion, having a different look or whatever, is alright and they don't need to be ashamed of who they really are. "Pasadena Tattoo" is all about love and love interest and stuff like that, it's just basically a song about not being afraid to get their love interest's name tattooed on their wrist, or ankle, or whatever. And then I also performed "Pistols" which is a little bit haunting song, but I seriously love it, and I love how it tells about danger being out there in the streets. I even think "Pistols" might be my next single, unless I'll change my mind.
