I agree with him that the threshold should be higher - but him wanting that isn't at all about Katy directly, because everyone else's numbers would change, too.
Don't act so personally hurt. I mean, it's a logical desire, too - 1m digital singles is not worth the same as 1m physical singles. That principal, in fact, is why they reduced the weight of a single stream drastically.
Nobody's pressed about Katy. She's at the top of the industry in singles right now and it's inarguable; congrats to her regardless of the number just for doing so well. What people take issue with is that for example, she's 72x Platinum in singles when older artists with just as many massive hits, or more, like Madonna, aren't as high but have had bigger careers on the Hot 100 or in singles in general.
You're all kind of misled for calling him unemployed, too - I hope you all know he actually got virtually promoted within BB's parent company.
